First Sony Xperia Z1 Compact benchmark results (Quadrant, AnTuTu, GFXBench, others)
Sony has, thankfully, finally announced the Z1 Compact high-end smartphone. But that was yesterday. Today, we're giving you the first performance benchmarks results generated by the Z1 Compact. We have Quadrant, AnTuTu, GFXBench, Vellamo and Sunspider, so it's been quite an exhaustive benchmark session - both for us and the Z1 Compact. Nevertheless, Sony's latest jewel has passed through the tests with flying colors - it looks like this little guy can easily go head to head with most of the "big boys" out there and actually win the fight... which is to be expected, of course, having in mind that it sports the powerful Snapdragon 800 SoC.

Check out the results below!

One thing I don't know why is that Sony wasn't included in the benchmark cheating list (and non-cheating list either) but has the benchmark equal or even better than other cheaters?

It is called "Smart processing chip" not cheating. It detects when heavy load is about to be active, and kicks in: like "Arms Big-Little" when gameing or photo editing, that,s when it kicks in to reach full Cpu and Gpu speeds.

That's not cheating. What's cheating is when it's proven to run on only certain benchmarks

It's called optimisation you clown. It's the reason why in 2011, 2012 and even in 2013, Sony devices ran on par or even better than other devices with better hardware, especially in real life usage. Now with on par hardware, they run better than the cheaters.

Lol they are the biggest cheaters. The Xperia Z benchmarking way higher that the Nexus 4 despite pushing way more pixels and a heavier skin says it all.

Nexus Qualcomm devices get lower scores than other Qualcomm devices because certain Qualcomm chips contain stuff which is supposed to be secret, so due to the completely open nexus, they can't use that. Also, not all benchmarks take screen resolution into account. Fact is, you're a useless, jealous hater. Sony optimise the best. Everyone know this.

So, i open my nexus 4 to replace the screen and i compared the build quality versus the optimus G and versus the optimus G, the build quality is horrible. Scuse for my english, i'm speaking french :/...

Finally an iPhone replacement, but hugely let down by big bezel. No need for water resistance, as long as it looks and feels sexy. The SonyZ looks better than the Z1 and Zmini. Girls, ladies, womens will finally have an option to replace the iPhone.

the body size between z1 compact & iphone 5 didn't have much difference, so the bezels are also not annoying at all.

How can you consider this compact? The top and bottom edges are way toooooo big. And no surprises on benchmarks really, 720 screen with less pixels to push and same SOC as the Z1 so... gonna be quick.

It is tiny bit bigger than the iphone 5s although it has way bigger screen. 4.3 vs 3.5. So it is not bad at all. And it is better or equal to the iphone 5s which has way less pixels to push.

Wayy tooo big are you sure the bezels is about the same size as my GS2 125.3 x 66.1 mm vs Z1 Compact 127 x 64.9 mm. Let me ask you something can you tell me why S4 Active and Optimus GJ bezels is bigger than S4 and Optimus G????

The majority doesn't care about waterproofing. If you need to remove it to make it slimmer and sleeker. The remove the water proofing or offer the consumer a choice between a sleek non waterproof one and a fat ugly one that is waterproof. Also the GS2 is ancient. Hardly the dimensions Sony should be aiming for.

You are literally crazy. Waterproofing is a usp of Sony, they even say they've been suprised by the reception. Ugly? You need to get your eyes and mind checked. The tablet Z is the best looking and built tablet, the Z, Z1, ZU, and Z1C are the most beautiful devices of the year so far and last. You are literally a hater. The h key is far away from the t key, only a crazy person would manage that typo.

Hey taters my favorite closed minded samsung fanboy :) are you sure the majority doesn't care about waterproofing?? because in the past you can't find any high end and premium waterproof android phone with cutting edge specs. From what i know Xperia Z is the first "real" sony flagship with waterproof body and and thanks to the Z series sony phone sales have increased. Slowly but sure everyone will realize that for electronic devices especialy for something you use and carry all the time waterproofing is far more important and far more useful than the super thin bezels. If you think 9.5 mm is fat your hands must be very small and ugly are you talking about galaxy series??? If Z1 Compact is not a waterproof phone it's very easy for sony to make it with super thin bezels since Japan Display is able to make IPS WhiteMagic. Pixel Eyes display with 1mm bezels. But Sony smart enough to realize that IP certification and bigger battery is waaaayyyyy.... much more useful than super thin bezels.

Weird, it has a S800 chip with a HD720P Display, I expected it to destroy everything but seems to score just below the Note 3 and G2 in most benchmarks, will wait for the final product benchmarks.

20. yudi.nemesis unregistered

The reason maybe because lower clock speed and Sony not doing some benchmark cheating like samsung and lg.

If they pulled an Apple or had an Apple fanboy run the benchmarks it would look more impressive. They would just leave out the benchmarks where LG and Samsung destroy it and just show sunspider and onscreen tests. Apple and their fans are the experts at selective benchmarking. Anyways, this is probably just running on incomplete software. Once its optimize it should destroy the LG G2. When the G2 first came out the benchmark scores were way worse than other S800 handsets but now it is higher. LG did something to the software.

Funny how the G2 still reigns supreme over all other phones lol. I would trade my G2 in the future for a Z1 compact though. Try something knew, sony seems to have hit all the right spots with this phone. A battery that can last as long as a 3200 and the specs to also rival things like the G2. Well done Sony, this time you did it. Hope the camera is = or better than my G2 though

And finally, for anyone who still doubted that Adreno 330 is the best GPU right now this is the proof. It scores just as much as the iPhone 5S in GFXbench onscreen, but on much higher resolution.

Shhhh. Don't rain on the ifans parade where they think the A7 is the best chip set in the world because the iPhone has a low resolution screen and the least intensive operating system in the universe.
