Concept renders show the iPad Air 3 in all its Apple-designed glory

Concept renders show the iPad Air 3 in all its Apple-designed glory
We can only keep guessing whether Apple will release another iPad Air in the future, given that its current flagship tablet is called the iPad Pro 9.7-inch. Artists, however, have no time for such mind games. Designer Geert van Uffelen took to his favorite rendering software to grace us with an awesome concept video of the eventual (or not) iPad Air 3. In addition to having an unmistakable sleek design, the tablet is envision with a 3D Touch display, Apple Pencil support, four speakers, a smart connector, and water/dust resistance.

While this is only a concept model, it doesn't seem too far from a tablet that Apple might release this or next year. The gang at Cupertino will have to think about something more clever than a spec upgrade and borrowing feature from the iPad Pro, though. Save for the resistance to the elements, which is very welcome, such a tablet won't bring anything fresh and exciting to the already saturated market.

The next iPad better be something that convinces people to upgrade. We'll see what the future has in store, eventually. Meanwhile, enjoy the rendered images and video below.

Massive icons for the visually impaired. Looks ridiculous.

The icons aren't that big. They are pretty normal sized. It's just that the space in between icons is huge.

It would be great if Apple fixed the UI so that 4 more columns of icons would fit. I mean, the space in between the rows and columns are large enough for more to fix. Every time I go to Costco and see the iPad Pro 12, I think how the space is so wasted with keeping the same icon spacing. Its still a nice tablet, but a lot could have and should have changed by now. On the iPhone, the icon spacing is fine. But for the tablet to have it in all this time is lame. Apple really should stop blowing up iOS for the iPad and give it, its own distinct set of features and UI.

I still dream of a day where Apple will release a different iPad version with OS X instead of iOS or at least a separate OS that makes the iPad really "pro". Seeing how the latest iPad 3's CPU is stronger than the newest MacBook (the super slim one which only has no other ports than one USB C port) it should be possible. But I guess that day will never come as it would lower Apples MacBook sales which they can sell for a lot more than the tablets.

Apple news sucks. The only news that comes up between product launches are OS updates, when apps go free temporarily, and product renders which aren't even official. Oh I forgot Apple stock news....Whatever. Boring!

and overly repetitive feature rumor that always come up every month (water resistant, long wireless charging, 3.5mm removal, and stuff), and useless phone/watch accesories.. other brands never get covered by that much article, lol

Concept renters = Bulls**t.. They are just all wet dreams for fanboys and have nothing do to with reality. Doesn't matter if it is something from Appl, Samsung or anything else.

Icons are to big and there is a lot of wasted space. But even though I will never buy a apple product I like the looks and like the 4 speakers.

Don't like it at all. The design doesn't flow together naturally like a true Apple product does. The bezels are all unproportional. Clearly an amateurish render.
