BlackBerry brand loyalty hits low as UK customers switch to the iPhone... 4
While John Chen is, undeniably, doing a heck of a job steering BlackBerry's ship towards warmer shores, UK phone trade-in website 'Cash for phones comparison' has lined up some bleak stats, showing the long path that the Canadian company has ahead of becoming relevant in the consumer smartphone business again.

Basically, only ~8% of customers who traded an old BlackBerry phone for a new handset claimed loyalty to the brand, while the overwhelming majority of ~66% of customers has went the path of the iPhone. Another %7 are heading towards a new Samsung device. Adding insult to the injury, 42.1% of the website's customers are trading a trusty old BlackBerry for the iPhone 4 - an aging device that Apple has now stopped updating. Only 5.26% are switching to the latest iPhone 5S.

The most traded-in BlackBerry device on the website is the Bold 9790, introduced November 2011. Interestingly, BlackBerry recently restarted production of the Bold 9900, a model that's a good four months older than the 9790.

Thanks for the tip!
