Best new Android and iPhone games (March 31st - April 6th 2015)
Most new games launch simultaneously on Android and iOSThe beginning of April treats us to a new set of great iOS and Android games, and this time around, most of the games are available on both platforms, which is always a great thing. CivCrafter took the top honor with its engaging gameplay - it's a civilization builder and manager, with retrified graphics, and is just a lot of fun to play.
Just as the name implies, this is a civilization crafting game, a simulation where you balance the fine line between spending money on resources and expanding your city. As you upgrade your workers and build more sophisticated buildings, you watch your whole civilization progress.
The signature cyber-punk world of Shadowrun literally 'returns' in this latest edition. Beautifully drawn, very atmospheric, Shadowrun Returns is a single-player turn-based role-playing game. The story takes place in the distant year 2054 when technology merges with flesh and consciousness. Elves, trolls, orks, and dwarves walk among us, while ruthless corporations bleed the world dry. As time and technology progresses, those analogies start looking all the more terrifying.
Lettercraft is a word game with a twist. It features an interesting new adventure mode with 70 different levels, and a challenging survival mode to push your mind even further. It also allows you to pick between easy, normal and hard difficulty, and it's got a multiplayer mode.
Just as the name says, this is a remastered version of the excellent DuckTales, an excellent jump'n'run game from the good old 8-bit days of the nineties. Scrooge McDuck's adventure takes him across the world - the Himalayas, Amazon, Transylvania, African mines, and Moon - a journey to find legendary treasures.
In Gunpowder you play as Incendio, a hero armed with nothing but wits and a keg of gunpowder to liberate the town's gold from the evil Boss Grimshaw. The game features 125 levels of explosive puzzles, set in the the Wild West.
The Quest Keeper
The Quest Keeper is an endless dungeon runner where a lowly peasant is on a journey to become a powerful dungeon master. On your way, you'd have to dodge spikes, knives, spiders, skeletons, lasers, saws, and more on your journey to collect rare coins and artifacts in 10 quests.
Tiny Dangerous Dungeons
Tiny Dangerous Dungeons is a classic Game Boy-inspired metroidvania adventure featuring little treasure hunter Timmy as he explores a huge dungeon, collecting hidden power-ups and gaining new skills.
DomiNations is a combat strategy game where you build up and advance your nation, picking a civilization at any point in time, from the Stone Age to the Space Age. You start by building a capital city, then train your army and dominate the rival Alliances with the ultimate goal to rule the planet.
Attack the Light
This fun and different role playing game leads you on an adventure to explore caves, fight bad guys, collect super secret treasure, and level up. It boasts intuitive tap and swipe controls, and a storyline from “Steven Universe” creator Rebecca Sugar.
A simple reaction game that's a huge challenge to master. An exercise in patience and accuracy, this is a Flappy Bird kind of an experience. Rather than a furry bird, though, here you play with boom dots - you have to tap in the accurate moment to fire a ball against a quickly moving dot.
A beautifully drawn zig-zag game with bosses, changing perspective, HellRider is a great little time-killer. Ads, however, are very annoying, but with a price of just a dollar, we would not hesitate buying it.
