Apple iPhone 6 and iWatch livestream: watch the event here (works on Windows)

Apple has just announced that it will livestream its iPhone 6 and iWatch event, and we expect one of the best lineups the company has had in years. The iPhone 6 and iWatch keynote will also be a test for chief executive Tim Cook as all eyes will be on the presentation and whether Apple lives up to the high standard of presentation and theatrics it has lived up to before with new unveilings.

We already know that this event will be special even for the simple fact that Apple has rented a larger than usual venue for the keynote - rather than holding it in the Yerba Buena Center for Arts in San Francisco, it picked the larger hall of Flint Center in its home town of Cupertino. The Flint Center is an iconic location for Apple: it’s the place where the company unveiled the iconic Macintosh 30 years ago in 1984, and that’s also where the colorful iMac that started the revival for Apple in 1998.

Apple is surely hoping to replicate this success with the iWatch, a product supervised from its inception by the company’s chief designer Jony Ive.

Note that the iPhone 6 and iWatch livestream will require Safari 5.1.10 or later on OS X v10.6.8 or later, or Safari on iOS 6.0 or later. You would also be able to stream via Apple TV with software 5.0.2 or later. Apple iPhone 6 and iWatch event starts on September 9th at:

10 am PT | 1 pm ET | 6 pm GMT

Good luck on taking back customers that switched by only allowing streaming from an apple device......

Or make more people switch, because their phone is so bad they can't even watch the introduction of their new phone on it.

Ever heard of watching it on others websites. Not to mention the 7,000 press people who will be there that will be live streaming themselves onto their blogs and websites.

iToys have always been overpriced and overhyped POS.

I can't agree with you because there's no product called an iToy.

The toys from Apple called iPhones, you know.. The ones that have been trailing behind Android flagships since 2011.

You mean the ones people have been camping out for the past several years? The ones where several android OEMs wished they had a fraction of the sales they get? The ones that I can easily find accessories for? You can stop now.

You mean those who were paid by Apple to do so? Android OEMS are already making better products, all they want is Apple's herd of mindless iSheeep to buy their products, ruining themselves in the process.

I'm paid by my job to use an Android phone. What's your point?

47. RebelwithoutaClue unregistered

So your only job is to use an Android phone and nothing else, cool job :)

They know what's good for productivity and also know the value of money. Good for them!

"Can't they see themselves? he wonders. "Don't they realize what pale imitations they are? Even Apple admits that all its users are simply mindless cultists who need to photograph the world on their iPhone, rather than, say, living." It seems they realize nothing. There are too many of them. They no longer have minds of their own. They just want to flash him with their wares.

You have some truth, But everyone's accessories were crap after they came out with the lightening adapter. Everyone had to go buy new accessories. I honestly do not see why Apple won't just go with the industry standard of micro USB already. If you have some insight on the matter, share.

Instead of listening to what their longtime base wants they keep force feeding us what they want, to stream everything together into one big easy-to-use iOS bundle. All machines are "pro" whether their specs warrant it or not. Logic & FCP have been dumbed down to be advanced versions of GarageBand & iMovie respectively. Aperture is done, soon to be Photos (advanced version of iPhoto). I'm all for easy to use software & simple hardware but Apple shouldn't be neglecting it's pro community. It has the profits from it's iToys & cash reserves to break even or even take the odd loss on higher end products which will keep the company at the forefront (like it used to be).
