Apple announces that they've sold 3 million iPads in under three months
When you know you've got something that's selling like gold, it wouldn't be unusual for a company to glorify its product each time it hits a sales milestone. In Apple's case, the iPad has been non-stop since it was released and has managed to muster up 3 million units in sales just 80 days since it launched into the market. Now that we're just a mere two days away from what's expected to be another blowout bash for Apple, these figures do paint a picture in the landscape surrounding tablet computing which is increasingly going to become competitive over the course of the next year. Additionally, the App Store now boasts over 11,000 apps that specifically cater to the unique tablet. Overall, Apple's ecosystem is already well established as the iPad is enabled to run the more than 225,000 apps that are currently available to the iPhone. It's not yet to be seen whether or not we've hit the pinnacle when it comes to monthly iPad sales – especially when Apple intends on launching it in a few more markets around the globe in July. Good news is pretty abundant in Apple's case of late as we head into what some may consider one of their most anticipated launches with the iPhone 4 this Thursday.

I'm really upset that there isn't an iPad 4.0 update till later in the fall. I think it's stupid that they decided to keep it downgraded while everyone else gets the multitasking option. Ugh...
