WatchOS 3.1 update improves battery life on Apple Watch Series 2 and Series 1

5comments

Earlier this month, Apple updated WatchOS to version 3.1, bringing some enhancements and bug fixes to the Apple Watch Series 1 and Apple Watch Series 2. But a pretty important enhancement seems to have been left out of the WatchOS 3.1 changelog.

According to many Apple Watch users, WatchOS 3.1 considerably improves battery life on the timepieces. Owners of both the Apple Watch Series 1 and Apple Watch Series 2 are reporting that they can now get up to two days of battery life on a single charge. Before the update, recharging every night was pretty much a necessity.

While most Watch owners are impressed, or even "amazed" by the battery life boost, some users of the original Apple Watch are - weirdly - reporting that the WatchOS 3.1 update has actually made battery life worse. Fortunately, these users are in the minority.

If you have an Apple Watch Series 1 or Series 2, you've probably already noticed that the battery now lasts longer. If you don't own an Apple Watch, does the improved battery life make you want to buy one? Let us know in the comments below!
