Amazon Echo Spot, already sold out, officially launched today priced at $129

The smart speaker revolution continues and it is as strong as ever. Today, for example, Amazon officially launched the Echo Sport. This is a smart speaker that looks like a small alarm clock. It features the tools of the trade which means it is equipped with a speaker and virtual personal assistant Alexa. It also is the second Echo product to feature a screen. The Echo Spot comes with a 2.5-inch display.

Sure, the Echo Spot will actually wake you with an alarm, just like the alarm clock it looks like. But it will also control your smart appliances, stream music, make a phone call, set a timer, request a ride from Uber, order a pizza from Domino's and much more.

While the Echo Spot was released today, the device was actually sold out around the Thanksgiving Day Holiday. Amazon is expected to have inventory of the black Echo Spot on December 28th. The white version of the device will be back in stock on January 5th, 2018. In other words, unless you ordered the Amazon Echo Spot last month, you won't be putting it under anyone's tree this Christmas.

Electric tape is a wonderful privacy switch. There are also options to disable the camera in the setting... no excuse for not getting one.

They should have added a camera shutter, otherwise it's a no-go for my house.

Ever heard of "electric tape"? It's the most advanced camera shutter available.

If you are that concerned for privacy that you need to resort to electric tape as a means to safeguard yourself from their camera, you should just stay away from these types of devices. Personally, I dont see myself using these devices enough to justify purchasing one, so I dont. Although I will say electric tape has helped me for a myriad of other issues I've come across in my life lol.

If you remove the camera, most people would see this as just a "smart alarm clock". The camera makes people wary, but in reality, it should not stop you from buying it if you are interested in a good alarm clock. Electric tape is a way anyone can eliminate a camera. I personally don't care or use the electric tape. If you own a smart phone, you have no privacy. There are microphones recording everything you say, and cameras that can be accessed with GPS location. Heck, don't use a computer... everything you do there is tracked too. We live in a world without privacy. Do no wrong and you have nothing to worry about.
