7 basic smartphone features that the iPhone does better than Androids

7 basic smartphone features that the iPhone does better than Androids
So I recently switched to an iPhone 6s after several months spent between the Sony Xperia Z5 and the Samsung Galaxy Note 5. There's no particular reason for the switch, other than I wanted to check with Apple and see how things are going with its latest flagship. The more compact form factor was also welcome.

Now, it's important to understand that, at heart, I'm an Android guy. I've been using Androids for years, and while I've obviously switched to iOS in the past, it's always been for a quickie or two, rather than a permanent switch. I always came back. So my last real touch to an iPhone was my 3G back in 2010. That's a long, long time in tech years. A lot has changed.

In any case, the switch is full of revelations. You find some stuff you like, others that you don't, and some that you feel Apple or team Android has implemented better. It's a highly personal process in that we all have our idiosyncrasies, which is also why I'm calling this an editorial. It's personal opinion. That said, I still consider the below examples of superior iPhone functionality to be fairly objective in that they offer a better user experience. And by the way, lest I step on anybody's toes, I'll be doing the reverse next week and talk about stuff that Apple could learn from its competitors.

Let's begin.

That's how to initiate flame wars. You mention Techie to get his attention right? So that he come write his response, then you'll call it whinning. Why can't you not post something whithout trolling someone? SMH

You like me don't you. You say my name more than Apple. I think you're obsessed with me now. I thought you had a wife? Let me meet here so I can tell her you're obsessed over some guy. LMAO! I don't care about peoples personal preferences, just don't claim they are better than mine. He basically says he feels iOS handles such tasks better. he is entitled to what he "feels". But he didn't make a false claim that it's better simply because he prefers how Apple handles it. Everyone is entitled to their opinion no matter how wrong or right they think they are. Respecting someone opinion is easy, if they are trying to make it be above yours.

Why even bother with that troll? Don't waste your keystrokes.

Problem with tech news writers is that now they have begun the shady implication business. He only mentions that it is his opinion deep in the article, but otherwise, the title and general text suggest as if it is some sort of given. There have been a lot of "opinions" regarding iPhones being better than Android in the last week since the announcement of Apples refurbished iPhone SEs. Its almost as if all of PA came to that conclusion all on their own at the same time without external influence....probably.

I know we've had our differences TechieXP but I got your back. It's time that loser Dark gets banned. All he does it try to start s**t with you. He's just a punk internet troll without a life. Don't let him get to you.

Thanks for the backing. Yeah I don't troll him. He likes to play both side as he uses both iOS and Android, so he claims. When I first came here, I though he was very logical and expresed some good opinions. Then he became this troll and every-time I post short or long here he comes. It doesn't bother me, it's nice to know I have fans who love mentioning my name good or bad. After all, don't we all paint fans we love in good or bad light? LMAO! Look, one of my fans have even taken part of my screen name. I am sure its either Darkk, Wiecon, MXY Ordinary/UnOrdinary or some other loser.

Lol you wish. Another lame troll tried to do the same thing, accuse me of making doppelganger accounts, and he ended up being wrong like he always is. I wouldn't waste my time parroting you. One techie is enough.

Lots of these can definitely be remedied by diffent skins or even third party software but as an android user (and one who wants their devices to be as capable as they can be) I'm glad these points are being made clear rather than people keeping their mouths shut and defending their OS in a biased manner. So all in all this was a great article to see life from the other side of the fence. On a side note I'm glad android N will allow us to go back to the previous app

Back at it again with the iphone post. I really wonder does this site help iPhone se sales? I mean everyday it's an article about iPhone being in some way better than android. Custom launcher does everything they just mentioned.

Good article, but have to disagree on some items. I think Swiftkey (and even Google's own keyboard) is a lot better and faster than the default Apple keyboard (good thing you can install it on iOS too). Swiftkey also supports cursor keys, making it a lot easier to put the cursor on the right spot in your text. While command center is easy, I (and a lot of coworkers) find it annoying as hell it pops up scrolling bottom up (good thing you can turn that off)

Samsung keyboard allows you to either swipe to input, or scroll the cursor on screen.

LG's keyboard does the same too.

The Samsung keyboard is built around the Swiftkey core.

THIS! The Samsung Keyboard is really good, and I mean VERY GOOD. Option to swype, has a scrolling cursor function, and even a FREEAKIN' NUMBER ROW. I am really surprised, because of how big phones are nowadays, that we still don't have keyboards that, like the Google Keyboard, have a number row on top.

Maybe there's an app on the App Store that can provide a solution for your remedy, your lack of a clue.

61. RebelwithoutaClue unregistered

Hahahaha you're so funny. I wanted to tell you perhaps there's a sense of humour app in the Appstore, but it's so obvious you don't need it. I can see why you use Deadpool as your avatar. Every time a new witty and intelligent joke, how do you do that? Chapeau my dear friend... But a solution for my remedy? Didn't know a remedy needs a solution.. oh wait you meant that funny too, so hilarious my friend.
