Information on new Verizon phones for 2008
As you may have noticed, very often, we are the first and exclusive source of information on the new phones, the U.S. carriers are expected to offer. This proved true with Gleam, FlipShot, VX8350, Z6tv, Juke, U550, U940 Glyde and many more.

We once again bring you the exclusive scoop on the LG VX9100, VX8610, Motorola W755, Nokia 2605 and 7205. Today, there are rumors that the two Nokia phones will come in early Q3. The new information indicates that the VX9100 will also come in maroon color variant, on or around its launch date (expected Q2). New color scheme will also receive the Alias U740, coming in silver.

Motorola Z6cx is a camera-less variant of the global Z6c, with all other features being the same. *Update* It is now available! What is more interesting is the Motorola VU30 (or Motorola UV30 - still not confirmed) which may come with the Intrigue branding.

The following models are expected in the Q3 or Q4:

The new rumor points out that LG will replace its VX8350 and Chocolate, with respectively, the LG VX8360 and LG VX8560. However, the actual replacement of the Chocolate 8550 may be the VX8610 (thanks Gene).

Samsung SCH-U810 will be what the Koreans will bring to the carrier. Samsung U810 will have the World Edition branding, just as the Z6c(x) and the 8830, which means it will have CDMA for domestic usage and GSM for overseas.

To see a full list of the upcoming Verizon phones and their expected availability dates, go to Verizon Upcoming Phones page.

Since this is a rumor, we cannot guarantee the genuineness of the present information.Of course, we will update you once something new appears.

C'mon, giving the year old u740 a new color scheme is lame. Beef up the specs on that thing already! Anyways, thanks again for the details Phonearena!

ok, the 740 in general sucks. Then to tyop it off, go ahead and rename it to the Alais. How retarded is that? Samsung phones arent the best quality. Only the LG brand.

I thought the 8610 was replacing the chocolates ? 8560 ??????????

The VX8610, which will probably replace the VX8550 Chocolate, those things are not really precise ... in the future, when there is more information, we will see which is the actually successor and so on ...

a question that has been bugging me is whether the glyde is actually a 3g phone? does it have wireless? is it a smartphone? let me know?

39. the glyde (unregistered) posted on 05 Jul 2008, 10:41

the glyde isn't a smartphone, its called a "phone with features" the touchscreen is unresponsive so if your gonna get a touch screen phone get the dare or the voyager

The U940 is NOT a PDA, very similar to voyager except it has a slide out keyboard and it does have HTML browsing. Samsung Doesn't change there phones often, and the U740 is a decent seller. The only reason it didn't sell good in the beginning is because of the champagne color that was only offered. Recent Samsung phones have be awesome phones. No more complaints on signal issues. Good solid phone (which everyone thought the hinges would break), and has been more reliable than my VX9900, and my VX8550. I think I'm going to go back to my samsung, till the U940 comes out. I haven't seen any pictures of the Maroon VX9100, but I saw a huge software list, and noticed the VX9100 on there and then I saw VX9100M sku, and in brackets (Maroon) was there. Which I'm thinking is the same burgundy/red that's currently on the VX8350, and the Chocolate. Since those looked more maroon looks like LG finally isn't color blind anymore and named it appropriately. I'm glad I was able to give Phonearena some tips. I don't always know ahead of time but sometimes I stumble on things :)

Pretty nice line up, but I don't ge tthe point of the ZCx...just get the one w/ the camera. And the 8610 is kinda ugly...not chocolate like. They need another replacement. Their color choices are also boring and dull. They shouldn't have distontinued the champaign color for the u740. Also, the new touch phones will be a nice addition.

decent line up...pretty good. But with the ZCx versus the ZC, I checked and both cost the same, so why would anyone get it without the camera? just a quick point.

a lot of government workers cant have a camera phone ....thats the only reason i can think of ....

So no mention of the BB curve?? I know it's only rumors, but I'm disappointed.

The 8560 is the Chocolate Replacement. Chocolates series are music centric phone. The 8610 is not a music phone... just a phone with a built in mono bluetooth

The curve is comming, it passed the testing, you will see it soon

14. (unregistered) posted on 13 Mar 2008, 22:26

ALso look for the Q9c coming soon as well...its a world edition

15. (unregistered) posted on 13 Mar 2008, 23:01

for those that were inquiring about the curve coming to Verizon, in the corperate office the ceo's are already using them and it was announced it's on the way. No release date tho. They also hinted towards a blackberry with camera and touch screen exclusive to Verizon. Uber Berry is what we call it over here.

@ #15 The Q9c is the same phone that Sprint has... it's not Global just no Music UI

17. PD (unregistered) posted on 14 Mar 2008, 00:23

18. stevo (unregistered) posted on 14 Mar 2008, 08:05

19. Tboke (unregistered) posted on 14 Mar 2008, 08:23
