IE 11 from Windows Phone 8.1 screenshots and video confirm password saving and other changes

A video of Internet Explorer 11 from the upcoming Windows Phone 8.1 Blue surfaced online. It seems that things have changed a bit around here:

  • The stop/refresh button now fits inside the address bar.
  • Password saving support has been added.
  • There's a Reading View mode, which might be familiar to Safari users. It displays only the text content of websites for clutter-free reading. The text size and viewing style of both Reading Mode and regular browsing mode can be configured between Bright, Light, Medium, and Dark.

Windows Phone 8.1 will be a free "spring update" for all WP8 users, including entry and mid-level handsets. It will deliver an enormous list of updates and changes. Among the highlights are dual-SIM support, compatibility with all of Qualcomm's 32-bit chipsets, and Cortana, the Windows Phone voice assistant that's both sexy and smart.

Speaking of these updates, our own Michael H. has done an almost encyclopedic work of presenting everything we know about Windows Phone 8.1 in this article. Be sure to check it out for more information on what's in tow for Microsoft's mobile platform.

I'm fine with wp8, coz it's simple.
What I don't like is that it's just.................. too simple. Boring.

Even Nokia 3310 and such phones were simple (and better) too.

I still wait for Opera to be available on WP. UC Browser isnt enough, plus Nokia Xpress suck.

surfy is nice as well as, maxthon is good.

Personally i have downloaded like 5 different ones, and for me, IE is still best and faster, and much easier imo to use.

Let me guess, you were typing on a WP8 device through IE and posted twice, by mistake.

The comment that say ie is no good, what can the other internet explorer can do that the others cannot do. I have Lumia 1520 and the internet explorer is different from the 520, so I am wondering if you are judging base off the other Lumia or you just being a troll

So your saying the stock FF is boring? Because without addons the browser is what? Boring?

I need it to go to a webpage...thats about it, and display/function. PA is one of the very few sites that has one feature that doesnt work. And that is a coding problem in the CSS for mouseover that PA's, IT guys are to derp to fix.

WP 8.1 is probably the biggest single update to a mobile operating system, WP8 is already the best operating system in my opinion , beautiful, consistent, responsiveness etc however for those who craves for more flexibility this update should definitely satisfy them.

I just don't like it when it refreshes the page when i go back from another apps to IE. Or is this normal for android and ios too??

Depends on how long you let the app run in the background. It does this 9/10 times on my iPad Mini 2 but rarely on my Note 3.

Never does it for me until i wait like 2hrs or something to go back. Or if i remove it from the recent list.

My Note 3 does it, my s3 did it. It is all about what it is doing in the back ground like papa said.

My ICON is a Bad Ass handheld computer to put is softly.
If I could print directly from it then it would be an handheld Lumia RT device.
I do wish it had a SD card slot & the Xeon flash but oh well I'm happy with it. Its miles ahead of the S4. I can talk cause my wify has it. The OS is seamless going from our computer to my phone syncing my documents & MS One Drive. Even the wife is a lil jealous.
That 8.1 update_ Just bring it.You cant beat its integration period.
Add wall paper & translucent tiles & its a wrap.

Haha I see the all the droid fans have finally sat back down.
WP is Here to Stay. MS has done a fantastic job. I like the direction they are heading into.

Very excited about the white on black option, especially for night reading. That's the setting I use on my Kindle app on my 925.

Should have added support for 64 bit chips.

if i am not mistaken the base code of the OS is 64bit ready, but i could be wrong. The NT code has been 64 ready for years. Then again this is arm vs x86
