What is your favorite phone of 2017?

2017 has been a great year for phones as our mobile sidekicks got futuristic, nearly bezel-less screens, performed better, their batteries lasted a bit longer and cameras started taking even better photos and videos.

But of all the new phones in 2017, which one is your favorite?

It does not have to be the objectively best phone out there - and who knows if such a thing even exists - but it needs to be one that you personally love. So tell us: which one is it, but also tell us why you love it? We are used to seeing (and battling) all sorts of negativity in the comments section, but the idea here is not to attack others for what they like. It's to share why you love that particular phone and - maybe - how has that pocket gadget changed your life this year.

Right below is a wide list of most notable phones released in 2017. If we have missed some phone you love, feel free to tell us so in the comments as well. With no further ado, let's get started...

What is your favorite phone of 2017?

Apple iPhone 8 Plus

This would be my mistake! I have added the HTC U11 now, I think it's the more widely available option.

Pretty much my choice but I am biased having had a load of HTC phones. Sometimes I wish the company would release anniversary phones like M7/M9 with updated internals, ala the iPhone SE, and stock android, but its probably a dumb idea as they might not have the marketing traction

I find this year phone mediocre. iPhone X is overpriced so it Note 8. Pixel 2 xl has pathetic display, U11 has ugly design, U11+ has pathetic battery life despite its hefty battery, Sony's flagships are all round mediocre, Essential Phone has pathetic camera, Chinese phones spy on people ( google spying on people is not enough for them), So I'm really looking forward to next year phone. But if I had to choose I'd choose One plus 5T over everything here. But in real life I'd never buy a Chinese phone.

I so wanted to vote for V30 but the best price:specifications ratio had to go to oneplus 5T.

At least the Note 8 had a ton of rebates, BOGO deals, and other freebies offered by both carriers and the Samsung brand itself. Not to mention the many features offered on the device itself, so I find it hard to believe that it’s a bad value. Did I not mention that nearly all carriers lowered he price for the. Note 8 to the exact same price as the S8+?

To be honest every one of them lacks in the essential 6(Design,CPU,Camera,Sound(dual speakers),Battery,Price). There should be some ratings for the 6 departments for the mentioned phones. If i had to choose i would agree with Phonearena rating that is given to the Iphone 8+ and that is my favorite out of all of them but in reality i don't like any of them because there isn't any one of them that stands out.

Why Essential on the list? Got only 4 as review score here! Should be U11+, XZ1c, Sharp Aquos R or Honor 9

This is a list of all widely available (not just our favorite), high-profile phones released in 2017. Unfortunately, we could not include all phones as the list would be a mile long, but we will keep an eye on the comments and will mention commonly favored phones that are not included in the list.

I get more and more tempted to buy a V30 everyday, truly a great and enticing smartphone.

The hardware is excellent on that phone, the software is mediocre at best.

As always software is subjective. If the V30 has mediocre software then what do you think about the Note 8's?

You're not assuming that the V30 has a better software now are you? How is it subjective? LGs skin is a copy of Samsungs UX. Samsungs offering is more polished, has more features, looks better (that yes is subjective but the majority will tell you that).

I happen to really dislike Samsung's UX so it's pretty easy for me to say a lot of skins are better, including LG's. As for it being a copy, I don't see it.

To me, It's a toss up between the Note 8 and iPhone X.

I actually like the G6 but I am hesitant to buy it because of LG's poor software updates. Its been months after its release and the phone is still stucked at 7.0 nougat.

2017 had some awesome smartphones. From the IPhone X which is finally a total change from the last 3,-4 years, to the S8 that led in the new design Era with almost no bezels, to the pixel 2xl with the best camera in the game to the note line coming back after a bad year in 2016 to arguably being the best phone of 2017 to the oneplus 5T who's on a Flagship level with a decent price etc.... 2017 was the best year for smartphones and rightfully so.

note 8 because for me it is the full package the only shortcoming it has is the battery life but it isn't horrific I can live with it

Note8 is not so different from a S8+ but much more expensive

6 GB of RAM is changing the game for Samsung so no it's not just S8+ with S Pen. Also dual camera is nice addition. I was looking forward for S9 with these features (RAM and camera), but looking at leaks I will be dissapointed.

The Galaxy S8 and S8+ should have have come with 6GB from the start, it's Samsung failure. They purposely held out to make it a selling point for the Note 8 despite knowing full well that it was crippling multitasking on the S8/S8+. For that reason I wouldn't vote for any Samsung products this year, they went for greed over the best choice for their customers.

Every company is greed. Even if Samsung is making his own RAM memory and let's say additional 2 GB would cost them (e.g.) 1$. Samsung is selling millions of flagships phones. So for example 10 mln x 1$ = 10 mln $$$. Of course this additional 2 GB RAM is more expensive and Samsung is selling more phones.

NOKIA 8, fot it is the fastest (except gaming)... CLASSIC LOOKS, durability and class combined in Nokia 8, and of course - the name itself NOKIA, the legend and soon to reclaim the title KING OF MOBILE PHONES...

I would have voted for the KeyONE if it were there, but went with the Nokia 8 out of the available choices.

The Samsung Galaxy Note 8 is the be(a)st of the year hands down!!

Why no regular Mate 10 option? It's arguably better than the mate 10 pro and I would've voted for it.
