US Cellular's version of the HTC Merge gets its fill of Gingerbread
The HTC Merge’s journey has been filled with plenty of uncertainty, but there’s some good news headed in the direction of US Cellular customers who happen to own the QWERTY packing smartphone.

As with most things getting monumental software updates, US Cellular customers will be especially delighted to know that the HTC Merge is finally getting in with the highly anticipated Android 2.3 Gingerbread update (build 3.05.573.1). Naturally, it’s indeed one breathtaking moment for some people, especially considering that there are many devices out there still sporting Froyo.

For those curious about what the Android 2.3 Gingerbread update entails, it features improved power management, user interface refinements, more control over applications, improved text interface, and one-touch word selection and copy/paste.

Therefore, if you haven’t done so already, you’d better head on over to US Cellular’s web site to download and install that update.
