The iPhone 8 can shoot 4K videos with 60fps and 1080p slow-mo with 240fps
Apple has significantly upgraded the cameras of the new iPhone 8 and 8 Plus, compared to last year's iPhone 7 series. New, larger sensor that takes in 83% more light than the kit on the iPhone 7, a dedicated ISP, and Apple's new A11 Bionic processor with custom-made GPU make possible real-time image and light processing, but the biggest upgrade seems to be in video capture. The iPhone 8 is able to record 4K videos with smooth 60fps, and 1080p slow-mo footage with 240fps, which should turn out some incredible results, making the new iPhones an indispensable video cam you will always have on you.

83% more light. That's crazy. Low light performance will be ton better Maybe it's using the sensor in the Pixel?

Maybe they are using both bigger sensor and new color filter like RGBW or RWB instead of traditional RGB color filter.

not saying it's innovation, but it's definitely something no Android can do, at least in this gen. Even the note 8 falls behind in the video department I guess.

I’m actually behind you on this, and I think it’s due to them not having enough of the X to sell on launch date. People won’t want to wait and they will order the cheaper iPhone 8. They for sure got a little greedy with this.

is there any phone beside sony having 960fps recording?

9. mikehunta727 unregistered

960 FPS is pretty cool but 4K/60 fps is much better to have You need a ton of sun light for 960 FPS, otherwise it looks terrible in lower light situations

That sony 960 fps is amazing only in demos. Else you literally need floodlights and absolute perfect timing.

Way to go Apple, at least there's a level playing ground now, not just the sheep claiming "iPhones gets things done"
