The cute and affordable HP Slate 7 tablet to launch on May 1 in the UK
HP is a great example for a company that just won't give up. They bought Palm in 2010 and used its promising webOS platform to produce the HP TouchPad - a tablet that shared many of the characteristics of the original iPad. That, however, wasn't enough, and the TouchPad failed miserably, not because it was a bad device, but because it was a device designed for the consumer market - a market where HP has little to no experience.

But, now that demand for tablets is even higher, HP is ready to try again, this time with Android. The Slate 7, announced at MWC 2013, is nearing the moment of its official launch in Europe, and according to HP's official webpage, May 1 will be the day when it's going to ship to consumers in the UK.

The HP Slate 7 may not be the most feature-rich tablet around, but what's cool about it is that it'll be extremely affordable at just £129. In other markets, the tablet is expected to sell at a starting price of $169. What you'll get for your money is a 7" display with a resolution of 600 x 1024 pixels, dual-core 1.6 GHz processor, Beats Audio and Android 4.1.1 Jelly Bean.
