The Wi-Fi only Samsung Galaxy Tab S 8.4 is now being updated to Android 5.0.2 Lollipop
Roughly a month after updating the Wi-Fi only version of the Galaxy Tab S 10.5 to Android 5.0.2, Samsung is now rolling out the same Android Lollipop version to the 8.4-inch variant. The Android 5.0.2 update is currently being rolled out in Samsung's home country of South Korea, but other countries should get the update soon enough.

The Android 5.0.2 firmware for the Wi-Fi only Galaxy Tab S 8.4 will roll out both over-the-air as well as through Samsung Kies. You can check for the OTA update by going to Menu >> Settings >> About device >> Software update >> Update. If you're the patient type, you can wait for the system to notify you when the update is available for download. The update clocks in at a hefty 1.5GB.

If you're using an LTE version of either Galaxy Tab S version, you're currently out of luck, as you'll probably have to wait a little more before getting a taste of Android 5.0 Lollipop on your tablet.

Until Android 5.0.2 reaches your device, you can learn all about the new features from the following video:

Lollipop really crippled my Nexus 7 2012 edition. Thought about getting this tablet. Not sure.

I was in your exact same situation and purchased the 8.4 WiFi version. I am loving the new tablet. Definitely worth the purchase.

I have the 10" Tab S. Trust me still a horrible device. The lag on basic Web pages is ridiculous. The Exynos processor can't handle simple Web pages with script. Yes I tried other browsers. Like all of them. The lollipoop update didn't do anything to help.

A known Samsung Troll. Same advise I give the last time, either dump your imaginary Samsung device or sell it if that is even possible. I give away my old Samsung devices to friends and relatives.

My iPad Air is actually really laggy now for some reason. Maybe I should have upgraded to the iPad Air 2. Lol

I don't see how the 8.4 version is any different from the 10.5 version. So with that being said, where is the 10.5 version at?

5.0.2 bricked my Nexus 7.2 a couple weeks ago, not sure if I will allow that dredge on my wife's Samy Tab s 8.4 until Google come clean on the issues that are bricking Nexus slabs.

Lollipop also bricked my Nexus 7 2013...which is the reason I own a tab s 8.4. Will wait to see how the update on the s 8.4 works before I pull the plug on Lollipop
