The 1st paid Android App to hit 1 million downloads: Beautiful Widgets
While we are still wrapping out heads around the fact that the Android Market has surpassed 10 billion downloads, a paid app has just hit the 1 million mark. That prestigious milestone goes to Beautiful Widgets.

Beautiful Widgets is a product of Level Up Studio. Level Up Studio, which was launched in 2009 with just one developer, has expanded to 8 people, who according to their infograph, have eaten 359 pizzas. That is a lot of pizzas in 2 years, and a lot of developers for an app studio. They have also updated the app 121 times, have 1109 skins available, and see an average of 1.3 million skins downloaded per month.

If you’ve never used it, Beautiful Widgets, is just that, a set of aesthetically pleasing widgets to replace your current clock, weather, and toggle buttons. In addition to gorgeous looks, right now, it is a part of Google’s 10-cent app bonanza.

Congratulations to Beautiful Widgets and everyone at Level Up Studio.

It is a great app. You can get the big clock/weather widget like they have on HTC Sense, and you don't have to deal with the other garbage on Sense. Win win

This is a really good app. If manufacturers customized Android on the stores to look as beautiful as Android can be, people would be much more interested. Out-of-the-box, Androids from all manufacturers look so bland.

I prefer fancy widgets honestly. But this is just as good.
