Samsung releases My KNOX app for easy access to business apps
Yesterday, Samsung changed up its KNOX security platform by offering an entry-level free version, and now it is releasing a new app that is aimed at being the hub for KNOX on your device. The app, simply called My KNOX, claims to give users control over their personal and work data without the need to call up IT admin support.

Basically, My KNOX creates separate workspaces on your phone. On one side, you can have all of your personal data and photos, which will be inaccessible by your business IT support; and, on the other side, you'll have your work email, business apps, and other corporate data. Right now, My KNOX comes with email, calendar, contacts, and other apps that support Microsoft Exchange ActiveSync. There is also a My KNOX User Portal, which will allow you to remotely manage your device, or wipe it if need be.

As of now, the My KNOX app requires a Microsoft account, and only works on the Samsung Galaxy S5 and Note 4. Presumably, support will be expanded to other Samsung devices, but no timetable has been given on that.

Too bad "My KNOX" doesn't allow one to easily disable/remove KNOX from the device. Samsung should offer an unlock/root app on their phones. That would be far more useful for the 98% of Samsung users who do not use KNOX.

Good point. My KNOX is constantly running in the background now from the update. It's not draining battery (at least I think it isn't), but it's there.
