Samsung Seek will be Sprint's $30 touchscreen phone
We've just been tipped about an upcoming touchscreen phone for Sprint, which will be an affordable youthful model, equipped with a touchscreen and full slide-out QWERTY keyboard.

Named the Samsung Seek M350, this phone has already made an appearance in our news section, back in January when we got our first unofficial look at Sprint's 2010 lineup. The device is believed to be a replacement of the Exclaim, and will sport a quite similar design and features. By the looks of it, the Samsung Seek will seek to deliver some fresh looks through different colors and nice patterns on its back.

In addition to keeping the QWERTY keyboard for those numerous texts, it seems like the Seek will also retain the same modest screen size of 2.6 inches with QVGA resolution. According to the information provided by our tipster, the Samsung Seek should become available in a few days - on May 9. It's price will be $29.99 with a two-year contract and after a $50 mail-in rebate.

2.6 inch touchscreen (most likely resistive) replacing the exclaim? yeah if i had a choice... i'd just keep the exclaim. Theres no reason to have all of that space just for home/back/call buttons. Dumb phone or not... this could have been better. Why buy this over the rumor touch.

Because LG sucks that's why! Their phones are not built to last more than a year. Samsung's are reliable at least, they may not have the best features but they survive normal use.

haha true their build quality is comparable to glue and popsicle sticks. but still if there going to make a successor they should probably make it a little better than its predecessor. I mean, adding a touchscreen doesn't necessarily mean its an upgrade unless your getting a better experience with it. And who has a good experience with a 2 inch touch screen now a days. But however seeing its just a feature phone I guess its not much to criticize.

My complaint with Samsung is they produce way too many phones too fast. And each so called upgrade is very minor from it's previous version. They need to focus more on new ideas, not minor cosmetic changes in their lineup. The Moment 2 is about to be released very soon, it's not that different from the original Moment, so who cares! Build something new and better!

Actually, this really isn't a replacement to the Exclaim, as it's more of a budget model. The Exclaim sells for more and also has a nicer camera. This is a 1.3 versus the 2.0 of the Exclaim.Whereas the Exclaim is aimed more at teens and 20 somethings, I think this one is more aimed just at the kids, giving them a touchscreen phone that mom and dad won't mind buying because of the price.

For it being a touchscreen, and not need to have a data plan its alot better than the touchscreen phones that other carriers have come up with. and with all the features that sprint add to it like tv gps music, its a great phone. People cant complain of what it doesnt have, if they dont like it buy the phone that cost more has more features and requires a data plan. I remember when touch screen phones first came out how people complained how they hated having to buy a phone that requires data that is so highend and people wanting to buy a phone because of looks but do not want the features. This is a smart move by sprint to come out with this phone and it will sell very well
