Plants vs Zombies 2 now available on Android
It has been just over two months since Plants vs Zombies 2: It's About Time launched on iOS; and, without any warning at all, PopCap has finally released the game for Android devices. It is available right now in the Google Play Store, and the early reviews on the game are pretty solid. So, at the very least we can say that PopCap made sure the game was ready before releasing it.
A quick refresh on the game: PopCap decided to shift the game from being a paid app (the original PvZ cost 99 cents) to being a freemium game. That means there are now in-app purchases which will help you to get through, but the general consensus is that you won't actually need to buy anything in order to make it through the game. The zombie defense madness brings you through various stages including a Pirate Ship and Ancient Egypt, and brings a number of new characters, weapons, and animations.
PvZ 2 is free and only requires Android 2.3 or higher, plus a 1GHz processor and 1GB of RAM. The description does say that "features may vary by mobile device", but doesn't really explain what that might entail. And, as an added bonus, the mighty Jalapeño in-app purchase is 65% off for this week only.
