Nokia's Ari Jaaksi jumps ship & is the latest to leave the company
The exodus continues on over at Nokia's camp as Ari Jaaksi is the latest executive to bail out after Nokia's Olli-Pekka Kallasvuo, Anssi Vanjoki, and Jorma Ollila.

In fact, Jaaksi is leaving just when things surrounding their MeeGo platform are beginning to heat up and well before the company fully plans to unveil its first MeeGo powered handset. Jaaksi was Nokia's vice president in charge of managing the MeeGo device team and was one of the key figures in bringing together Nokia's Maemo and Intel's Moblin platform.

In regards to Jaaksi's departure, a Nokia spokesman said, “He has decided to leave Nokia and will pursue new opportunities elsewhere.” Ever since Nokia's shook up things internally with the appointment of Stephen Elop as the new leader of the company, we've seen a steady exodus of executives leaving – with Jaaksi being the latest one.

Even with his departure, it doesn't appear to affect MeeGo's roll-out schedule where the company plans to release its first MeeGo handset before the end of the year.
