New T-Mobile ad once again goes after AT&T and Apple's Face Time restrictions
T-Mobile continues its ad campaign for the myTouch 4G that takes a jab at the Apple iPhone 4 and AT&T's network. So far all of the commercials in the series have pointed out that Apple's Face Time video chat requires the use of a Wi-Fi network to work. On the other hand, T-Mobile's myTouch 4G will allow you to have a video chat using Wi-Fi or the carrier's 4G network.

"Not cool, AT&T," says the T-Mobile spokeswoman when the actor portraying the Apple iPhone 4 steps out of the "Wi-Fi zone" making a mess of a Face Time video chat. And of course, T-Mobile closes out by once again making sure we know that the carrier has "America's largest 4G network."

Will AT&T fight back or will it leave it up to Apple to retaliate as it did with the famous Verizon "There's a map for that" ads that ran last year.

Stupid T Mobile isn't even original enough to come up with their own commercial format. If they're too lazy to think of their own campaign then why should I believe their service is worth my spit? PS the two actors are dopey turnoffs. Neither of their faces are original. T Mobile rips off the Apple ad campaign and then casts a Liv Tyler and Owen Wilson wannabe. There's NOTHING original about the commercial. And IMHO Liv Tyler is the only one for me - not T Mobile's vapid, personality-less half wit.

simple question. if you agree ATT is priced too high, then why do you have them? you have a galaxy S phone which is availible on every carrier anyways. Why not go where its cheaper and faster with either Tmo or Sprint. Both generally offer similar (or better) coverage for most areas and both are faster. VZW is the same price but generally has the best coverage and soon will be LTE fast. ATT cant possibly have the best coverage there over the other 3 carriers.. i think id fall over if that were true.

clever, qic also integrates with your contacts, so when you pull up bob in your phonebook, u can make a regular or video call automatically if they have the service too. that kind of negates your extra button press malarky. android also uses fring, yahoo, and tango. what is the point? yes dood, we know that android phones can use fring ect without an FFC and on 3g. i use it on my vibrant. thats why androids rock and apple doesnt. so just because i dont like ATT because they are americas most over priced and under delivering network, im a lemming? maybe i just know what is or isnt quality? where i live, in a million+ city, ATT has by far the worst coverage of the big 4 carriers. Why should i pay 40% more for worse and slower service than Tmobile? For an iphone? Who is the lemming?? lol. The only way id pay those ATT inflated prices is if i was on VZW, at least they have the coverage to back up the pricing.

I think you are being a little dramatic. The advertisement above said that you couldn't make video calls without wifi, but you actually can. If it said make video calls pushing fewer buttons then your argument would make sense. And I was under the impression that T-mobile had the worse service, but maybe things have changed. And no you're a lemming because you say things like apple & att = fail. And you're a lemming because you're fighting for android in a battle that doesn't even concern you. You're phone doesn't even have a front facing camera! Why are you here!

@remixfa you're misunderstanding my comment. The mytouch uses qik by default for video chat. That means you must set up a qik account and then commence video chat with those that have qik. On iPhone 4 yo can download tango, or yahoo, or fring. Let's say you download tango. The only setup is to enter your number. It automatically adds you to the database and uses ur contacts to tell you who else has tango and video chat. Using either tango it FaceTime there are no "extra" button presses. It's as simple as video chat on the mytouch and with tango you can do it over 3G or edge. So now that I've made it simpler for you to understand, where has att or apple failed in it's ability to provide customers with video chat over 3G? Yes it's with third party app but so is the mytouch. Android doesn't have native video chat. Gingerbread supports it but doesn't have it.

lol. the point they are making is that on tmobile you can videochat anywhere. on the iphone its restricted to wifi only. if you have to push an extra button isnt even in the mix. apple & att = fail.

Funny commercial. All things equal though, the mytouch 4G has no video chat advantage. It uses third party apps to do video chat over cellular. The iPhone has the same capability with at least 4 different apps that come to mind including skype. One of those, tango requires the smallest setup (only your number or email for iPod touch). And FaceTime requires none. Tango also works across android and iOS. So video chat on the new mytouch isn't a single step easier than with the iPhone or more available. 4G=win. Video chat=tie.
