HTC Summer Sale: One M9 25% cheaper, Nexus 9 gets 40% price cut

The HTC One M9 came at a time when HTC needed a hit product, but rather than living up to the high expectations, the One M9 came riddled with products and ended up deepening the disastrous financial situation HTC was in.

First came the reports about overheating of the Snapdragon 810 system chip and then the disappointing camera samples showed that the new, 20-megapixel camera on the One M9 is not up to par with other flagships.

The situation was so dare that HTC chief executive Cher Wang had to apologize to shareholders.
