HTC One (M7) now costs only $199.99 (off contract) at Best Buy
If you're planning to buy a sub-$200 Android smartphone in the US without signing a contract agreement, you might want to consider looking at a former flagship made by HTC. We're talking about the HTC One (M7), which is currently available at Best Buy for $199.99 off contract. This isn't an unlocked One (M7), but you can choose to get it on Verizon, AT&T, or Sprint. It seems that only the blue and silver variants of the handset are available for just $199.99.

While it's now almost 2 years old, the HTC One (M7) simply can't be ignored at this price point, as it still offers attractive features, including a 4.7-inch 1080p display, BoomSound speakers, 2 GB of RAM, and 32 GB of internal memory. Moreover, the One (M7) should be updated to Android 5.0 Lollipop later this month. If you can't wait for the official OTA, an unofficial ROM is already available - Sense 6.0 included.

Certainly, most HTC fans are now waiting for the Hima / One (M9), so they're probably not interested in the One (M7) anymore. Still, if you're among those who think the ex-flagship handset remains a great buy, you can find it at the source link below.

Wow is right. A 1080p display with 2 GB of ram, quad core CPU, with IR blaster (TV remote), and more for only $199 off contract. Sweet.

Motorola needs to take note.

Why? It's a retailer unloading old stock, not a competitor changing things up.

The camera isn't that bad. It's not fantastic by any means, but if you're comparing this to other off-contract devices at the same price it's a big jump from what's available.

I like HTC but they don't get much love in China, Even though it's a Chinese company, Taiwan whatever, it should have been HTC taking over China not Meizu and Xiaomi.

The fact these are a Taiwanese company and not Chinese company is probably part of the reason they don't get much love in China. China still considers Taiwan their property, and they've had a lot of struggle between the 2 over the past 100+ years.

But chinese OEMs mostly use MTK chips, even though MTK is a Taiwanese company. Or perhaps becoz MTK is (economically) cheap?

The AT&T and Verizon versions can be used on Cricket. Any AT&T phone can be used on Cricket, it doesn't need to be unlocked. All LTE Verizon phones are unlocked from the factory.

You know that a new model of a device is about to come out when the price of the 2yr old variant is less than $350 off contract.

Agreed. M7, SGS4, G2 and Z2 at a sub $200 price are the best deals. We are talking about S600 cpu and accordingly gpu, 2GB ram, 16 expandable or 32GB memory, 1080p screen and most of them will be updated to android 5. For a mid spec or daily rutine phone it is the BEST solution.

Is Z2 that dirt cheap? Its a phone that comes with S801 cpu with 3GB ram , 20.7mp & 3200mAh battery . Just half a year before Z3

Now the price is right, because the camera is not that useful.

They posted this deal at least a week ago on Slickdeals. Some people have posted that some of these may be refurbished and some may have the purple lens flare problem. This phone is also convertible to a GPE version of your feeling brave.
