HTC M7 arriving March 8 in France for €650 with the exact same name

The HTC M7 has been thoroughly leaked already numerous times with specs and even images of the chassis, but now comes a release date and price confirmation, albeit in Europe.

A French retailer has listed the M7 (yep, that seems to be sticking as an official name) as coming March 8 to its shelves, and it is slated to cost €649.99 (~$879) in the land of fine dining and union riots.

That's about the same as any flagship smartphone when it launches in Europe, so HTC is apparently not going to give those Ultrapixels away to claw back market share. The confirmed specs in the listing are once again:

  • 4.7 inch Full HD Display(1920*1080 resolution)
  • 1.7Ghz Qualcomm Snapdragon Quad Core Processor
  • 2GB RAM
  • 32GB Internal Storage(with microSD Support)
  • 13Mpx Camera
  • HTC 5.0
  • 4G,NFC Supported
  • Double HP Techno Beats Audio
  • 2300mAh Battery
  • Android Jelly Bean

Don't wanna sound too negative, but how's all these phones going to compete with the next-generation performance of the SIV? The earliest A15 competitor looks like the Motorola X several months away. Sammy will rule the day once more.

wait for the M7 so that Butterfly prices go down... then buy Butterfly

I also wanted to do that too but I might never end up getting a new phone if I do that, if you wait for the price of butterfly to come down an m7+ might appear and will make you say you want to wait again

I agree with mittal , as a man that just finished high school haven't got into college yet doing part time jobs to support myself , that could be the best decision

Are you sure why not just get the one x? just like me I'm still a student.btw did you read my comment for you on the previous article?about the difference of butterfly and one x+? Sorry pa if our conversation is off topic

23. thelegend6657 unregistered

I saw , maybe the one x+ . One x is a little slow in the browser The one x is good too . I don't know , the butterfly and the one x+ just feel more special

I think jb update will resolve the laggy browser, so far it's no big deal to me, I don't mind it at all. If you want to wait for the price of butterfly to depreciate, I expect it to be only going down by $50-$70 at the time the m7 comes out

Very frankly, u really need to see what specs actually matter to you and not just follow the spec race Check the qHDs and the 720p screens on the market and compare with the full HDs. See if u even need full HD and accordingly mark that spec Chek if u need all that procesing power of a quad core, or if a Krait dual core is fine and accordingly mark that spec Chek your need for a good camera phone, and accordingly hunt for a good one and so on... I did the same and realised i can save good money by not spending on the One X and bought a One S (me very happy :) ) But yes if your phone needs to keep u in line for the 'social status' purpose then examine all the super high ends

29. thelegend6657 unregistered

Well mittal , there is more rom for the one x compared to the one s although the one s feels a lot better . I'm fine with the one s screen , problem is Asian one s have snapdragon s3 instead of the European s4 . Also , what you pay is what you get , by paying slightly more for the one x , you get a better screen , CPU and more storage

See thats what i mean... since u are clear with your preferences u will make a better and practical decision I dont think i will be rooting my device so custom roms wont effect me. Plus i get better battery life with my S than what is reported for X. S is more convenient to handle. And yes i also had that issue with the damned Scorpion processor issue. So i had mine imported from the U.S.A. with a Krait one :D

Cool ! But I think its wise to root your phone after one year . Sure , rooting voids your warranty , but your warranty expired anyway ?
