Deal: BestBuy offering the Google Nexus 9 for $75 off this weekend
If you've been holding off the purchase of the HTC-made Google Nexus 9 until a good deal rears its head, this may be your lucky day. BestBuy is now offering the latest Google Nexus tablet, in both 16GB and 32GB variants, at $75 off the usual price. If that sounds like a good deal, then time is of the essence, as the offer is only available during this weekend.

BestBuy currently sells the 16GB version of the Google Nexus 9 at a price of $325, while the 32GB version of the tablet is priced at $405. The tablets are available in either Lunar White or Indigo Black. Google offers the same tablets at $400 and $480 through Google Play.

Just in case you need a quick refresher, the Google Nexus 9 comes with a 8.9-inch display with a resolution of 1536 x 2048 pixels at a 4:3 aspect ratio. Under the hood beats the heart of a Denver-based Nvidia Tegra K1, one of the fastest chips currently available on Android tablets. Other specs include 2GB of RAM, an 8MP primary camera, a 1.6MP secondary shooter, a 6700mAh battery, as well as a pure-vanilla version of Android. For a cheaply made tablet yes, I rather get a Galaxy Tab S 8.4 $300 at Best Buy as well, way better tablet.

Beg to differ. The Nexus 9 has a much faster 64 bit processor with a much faster GPU. The Tab S 8.4 has a slower 32 bit processor with a slower GPU. Facts are facts. Also the editor never mentioned that the Nexus 9 is a 64 bit system. Its like he purposely left out that fact.

I forgot to mention the Nexus 9 has front facing stereo speakers as well. None of the Galaxy Tabs or iPads have stereo speakers.

Yes better internals maybe a better tablet. For the regular consumer not so sure, the tab has a nicer screen is just simply gorgeous even better looking and oh yeah expandable storage. Really the Nexus is so cheaply made, my Nexus 10 is better built!

I prefer the iPad Air 2. Even if both have same specs, the iPad Air 2 has a better screen since the display is much closer to the glass. Plus it has anti-glare coating, make it much easier to read text outside. It's much faster too. It can even beat the Shield in a wide margin, even in gaming. The speakers are loud too. Many reviews say the Nexus 9 has nothing special with it and shouldve been cheaper. I pretty much agree because I dont think there's anything unique with this tablet. It's basically to provide the best Android Lollipop experience on a tablet.

Asus me572 on sale for $162 is a better deal IMO, if you need a compact tablet anyway

That's too expensive. I can get a better deal with an iPad Mini 2.

The Nexus 9 smokes the IPad Mini 2. Besides the IPad Mini 2 only has 1 GB of ram, and no real multitasking.

Not too long ago we decided to purchase an iPad mini 2 since the mini 3 was the same thing and this was a 128gb version for less than $500 excluding tax, so I agree that it's a much better deal than a 32gb Nexus 9 at $405.

lmao For a cheap guy like me. The Nexus 7 32GB 2nd Gen good enough. Only cost me $190. Nexus 9 is nice but not nice enough to warrent that price. I thought it would come with 3 GB of RAM considering the 64Bit system but nah..improvement over nexus 7 is not enough

This nexus 9 is very cheaply made and its definitely not worth the price that they're asking for. Even with $75 off, it's still not worth it.
