The Samsung Galaxy S4 in Blue Artic launches as a Best Buy exclusive next Friday
Next Thursday, Best Buy is going to launch an exclusive variant of the
Samsung Galaxy S4. The flagship Android model will be available in Blue Arctic from Best Buy's website. It will also be offered at the "Samsung Experience" shops that can be found in 1400 Best Buy and Best Buy Mobile locations. The device will be offered for customers of Verizon, AT&T and Sprint. The Blue Arctic Samsung Galaxy S4 will be priced at $199.99 with a signed two-year contract and should be shipped on November 14th.
MyBest Buy Elite and Elite Plus members will be able to pre-order the device starting Friday, while pre-orders will begin on November 10th for everyone else. Sales of the Samsung Galaxy S4 are said to have slowed down to the point that there was speculation that the Korean OEM was going to rush out the
Samsung Galaxy S5 to
give a jump start to sales. That rumor has since been shot down by none other than Samsung Mobile head honcho J.K. Shin. Last month, Shin told Korean media
that 40 million units of the Galaxy S4 have been sold.
Before the Samsung Galaxy S4 even launched, the talk about the phone had reached a fever pitch with estimates for sales reaching as high as 100 million units. But that lofty forecast was made in February, well before the phone launched. By the time June rolled around, Samsung was trying to lower expectations of Galaxy S4 sales before they got to a level that could never be matched no matter how strong sales of the device turned out to be.
