Apple's free app of the week is Blek

It is that time again to reveal Apple's free app of the week. This week, the free app is Blek. The rules are simple. Draw a line that "collects" all colored circles on the screen while avoiding the black holes in the way. Every level has multiple solutions, some easy and some "deep and complex." Every line you draw moves on the screen. If there is one word that seems to be associated with Blek, it is "elegant."

The year it was launched, The New York Times called it "... one of the year’s best (games)" and it was an Apple Design Award winner. As we said, it is now free for those of you using an iOS device. But those toting an Android phone or tablet shouldn't totally feel left out. The game is available in the Google Play Store, although it will cost 99 cents to download.

You can check out the original trailer for the game by clicking on the video at the top of the story. Blek is addictive, but is a simple and fun game to play. If you own an iOS device, this week it won't cost you anything but your time to check it out.

I'll be sure to try it, hopefully I remember. I'm a sucker for games like this.
