Apple media event featuring the 4-inch iPhone SE pushed back a week to March 22nd? (UPDATE)
Originally thought to be taking place on March 15th, the Apple media event that will introduce the 4-inch Apple iPhone SE is now believed to be taking place on Tuesday, March 22nd. The iPhone SE is believed to feature the A9 chipset and M9 motion co-processor. According to connected Apple analyst Ming-Chi Kuo, the phone will sport a 12MP camera on back and will be powered by a 1642mAh battery. The unit will support NFC and Apple Pay, and will be available in 16GB and 64GB models.

UPDATE: The latest rumor has Apple holding this event on Monday, March 21st at Apple's Town Hall in Cupertino. We are still awaiting confirmation from the company.

Kuo adds that the price of the iPhone SE will be between $400 and $500. With Apple expected to slash the price of the Apple iPhone 5s by 50% to $225, the analyst cut his forecast of Apple iPhone SE shipments from 18-20 million down to 12 million. Kuo cut his estimate as he expects the cheaper price of the iPhone 5s to draw buyers away from the new 4-inch iPhone.

At the March 22nd event, we expect to see Apple take the wraps off of the 9.7-inch Apple iPad Pro. This slate will have many of the specs found on the larger 12.9-inch tablet, but priced as though it were a new iPad Air model. The A9X chipset is inside along with 4GB of RAM. The tablet will contain a quad-speaker sound system, and will support the Apple Pencil and a smaller Smart Keyboard. The latter will sync to the tablet with the Smart Connector. Apple is also rumored to be unveiling a new refresh version of the Apple Watch with new bands and possibly a FaceTime camera.

With Apple employees reportedly asked to keep the days around March 22nd free, it seems quite possible that Apple will have a few things to show us on that date. The original rumor had the iPhone SE launching three days after being unveiled. If Apple sticks to the schedule, its new 4-inch phone will be available for purchase on March 25th without a pre-order period.

IP5se will be my 2nd Apple produc, after owning the ip4. Great compact sized phone, when out and about. 4inch is perfect.

Isn't that battery similar to the iPhone 6 with bigger screen? Could maybe have ok battery life. Pretty poor to still have a 16GB option these days when there's no expandable storage. That really doesn't get you far in terms of using your device for any of the good things it can do like take photos and videos, nevermind downloading even a few decent apps and games. Poor show if true.

Every manufacturer is making hand sets with larger screens and larger screen to body reatio, but Apple is going one step back cutting on costs and latest technologies, but iSheeps are so stupid that they buy any garbage with Apple logo on it. Stupid people stay stupid.

You must be pretty stupid - "isheeps" it's isheep.

Your completely missing the point. It's an iPhone 5 with 6s specs, how is that not good? Apple put it in a smaller size because many people don't like the 4.7 and 5.5 models.

its not regular sheep... iSheep is totally different creature (and obviously not an animal).. iSheep is new word and their plural form isnt officially defined, so "iSheeps" usage is fine

It's "iSheep", not "iSheeps" because "sheep" is singular and plural. Kinda ironic of you to call others stupid. :)

iPhone 5S for $225!? No way Apple does that. Maybe a minor price cut or they stop selling it.

Yup was just gonna say that, there is no way they are going to sabotage their new affordable iPhone with an even cheaper still capable iPhone 5S.

No one will mistake that an Apple 5S or the new SE is a direct rival for the powerful new Samsung S7 series: it’s not even worth talking about. But what Apple will do is appeal to people for whom any phone over 4 inch diagonal is more than they need/want; they will also appeal to people who may suddenly see an iPhone in their reach: $225 for an iPhone 5S? It’s an old phone, but is more than enough for many people today…and that price, if it is real, will SLAUGHTER an entire Android segment. On the flip side, what it will do to Apple's ASP and margins is also something where the word slaughter may not be too far off the mark...

I like all on here or say it will have the A9 and will be powerful and all that crap, it can have the A8 and be powerful, but not becasie of the CPU, it will be only any good if they keep away from Emmc, if they use there new ssd control mem then you see the power, if they use the Emmc and A9x it will be slower than the 6s with easy, the speed comes from the HD type

They're probably scared that releasing so close to the S7 will make it look like a weedy little toy.

This will not be competition to S7... I bet Samsung will cry when they see how "the weedy little toy" sells

I'll take this over that overpriced bar of soap running LagWiz on it. Samsung's last great phone was the Note 4.

Which also happen to be Samsung's last "overpriced bar of soap running Lagwiz". Apple's atrocious pricing for all their products and varies updates for their older devices post- new iterations of said device leads to laggy user experiences: iPhone 4, 5/s, 6.

Of course you'll take anything over the S7 (rolleseyes)

Note 5 and S7 are the best phones on the market, no matter how salty you are about it.

I think the market decides which is the best phone is and for which price. Not a few nerds on Forums.

A $400 dollar iphone with the computing power of the 6s = sales!

Apple is targeting phones like the Nexus and the Moto X. They're bringing their A game as usual.

They aren't targeting Nexus users with a 4in screen. This is for people who don't like big phones or who can't afford the 6s. You know the kind of people who go and buy a 4s or 5 in 2016.

I think it's highly optimistic to think the phone will debut at $400, but I guess we'll find out in a few weeks.
