Apple is the most admired company in the world for the tenth consecutive year
For the tenth consecutive year, Apple has been named the most admired company in the world. The honor that was bestowed on the tech titan is based on the opinions of 3,800 executives, directors, analysts and experts. Rounding out the top five are Amazon, Starbucks, Berkshire Hathaway, and Disney. Other tech firms in the top ten include Facebook and Microsoft. Besides being the most admired company on the planet, Apple is also the most valuable company on this rock with a market capitalization (share price multiplied by outstanding shares) close to $700 billion.

To make the list, a company has to be among the top 1,000 U.S. firms in terms of revenue. To that list, 500 international firms with revenue of $10 billion and more are added. Eventually, the list is cut to 680 firms across 28 countries. The contenders are then ranked on things like innovation, quality and social responsibility.

Apple's rise to the top of the most admired company list happens to coincide with the 2007 launch of what is arguably its most famous product ever, the Apple iPhone. Apple is expected to celebrate a decade of iPhone by offering a 10th anniversary model that at last report will feature a 5.15-inch OLED screen (breaking new ground for the device). The glass will cover the entire front of the phone.

Samsung, which was number 35 on the top 50 most admired companies last year, rode the Galaxy Note 7 explosion train off the list entirely this year. Samsung probably did not score points for its response to the Galaxy Note 7 debacle, which was sluggish at best.

This poll is easy to skew based on the job titles of the people that asked. Comcast can win this if the greatest percentage of people asked are from Comcast.

If Apple is the most admired company then that means that the majority of Android users secretly admire Apple over Google. Either that or no Android users were polled.

Opinions of 3,800 executives, directors, analysts and experts. Is it that hard to read? It's not the opinion of consumers, let alone Android users

Yes I read that. Now you read the title again. It implies everyone. What do you think is meant by "the world"? The first part of my comment is based on that. Last year I read that Android had 88% market share world wide. If you say that it's not the opinion of Android users then that means those executives, directors, analysts and experts polled aren't using android. I'd be naive to think that none of them are using Android. If they aren't then the last part of my comment is true. BTW all people are consumers in one way or another.

But Android isn't a company they can admire. This is just an award by business people (worldwide) to value companies on how well they do business (things like brand marketing, logistics, etc). And you may or may not like Apple. Apple does know how to run a profitable business.

In post 23 that you rebutted I say Google, and they develop and distribute Android. I have no Issues with Apple or Google nor do any of my posts suggest as such. And Google/Alphabet knows how to run a profitable business too. My initial post is more of a sarcastic questioning on the title of the article. I start off with the word "If". I also think that stating Apple to be the most admired company in the world is a little far fetched from such a small sample pole of only 3800 people. Apple may very well be the most admired company but this pole was too limited IMO.

I admire the fact that Apple can command a cult-like following in spite of creating jobs overseas building smartphones with last year's features sold at outrageous prices.

As much as I am starting to love the iPhone again... seriously? Like most tech companies who pretend they represent human rights and equality they certainly cast aside how demand for their products are ruining the climate with unprecedented pollution year after year. Not to mention the abysmal work conditions and questionable salaries of factory owners. Do you guys seriously believe companies like Apple aren't aware of this? Oh yes of course, we can all cast it aside as if it's all cool just because it boosts profits margins..

Of course Apple won again. There isn't a more deserving company of this except Apple. Let the haters hate and the salty river of tears flow while I get the butthurt report forms ready.

I'm really starting to believe you're not actually Mxy, but rather someone who is trolling Mxy...and if it's the latter, congrats, you're doing a great job.

Companies don't care about you, only their shareholders.

top 5 are: apple, Amazon, Starbucks, Berkshire Hathaway, and Disney it must be US based survey/research

There are also BMW, Toyota, Singapore airlines on the top 50 list which aren't US companies. Remember this admiration is mostly based on how well a company does business.
