Apple Watch: all the new features

After years of developing its top secret new category, Apple has finally taken the wraps off it: the Apple Watch is here. At least in its very early prototype phase that is - the wearable will arrive early next year, but we already know pretty much everything about.

The Apple Watch comes with a focus on design, with impressive attention to detail and a variety of sizes, bands, and models that should please basically everyone in the store for an expensive, but also radically new smartwatch.

The new timepiece stands out with so many new features that we found it hard to narrow it down to a mere 10, but we've done so for the sake of clarity, squeezing all down to the very essentials. And while we already know a lot about it, we should say that some details remain hidden, and the most notable one is whether the Apple Watch is resistant to water and to what extent: the company remained mum on the issue, but official images show the Apple Watch receiving a nice shower without getting hurt. We'll  be on the look for more information, but for the time being, take a look at 10 new new features of the Apple Watch right below.

Android wear has all of it's features and more except for Apple Pay which is pretty cool, the Apple is super ugly, people are going to accidentally press instead of tap, and it's the world's most expensive smartwatch. Wow, so revolutionary!

This is a joke or what this watch can't even compete with Samsung's first generation Gear. This is just way too ugly

My biggest concern: how hard is it going to be to tap on the app icons on that watch? Whenever I see the picture that shows all of the apps on the same watch face, I just can't help but think the size of those icons are so small you would need to pinpoint it in order to open it.

I expected more from Apple on the watch this truly looks like an apple three G its toy like it's not thought out it almost seems like they just threw something together from the past and I couldn't figure out how to get it cleanly operating so he said we will not do voice input

Yeah, because of this every Android Wear watch is superior, unless Apple loads it with mind-blowing specs, which they won't, cause, ya know, it's Apple. I'd rather get a Moto 360 or a G-Watch any day...

The more funny thing is PA decided to list the price of $349 as a 'feature' !! If that wasn't enough, read #4, 'While we have seen so many new watchfaces in Android Wear devices that have been unveiled recently, none come close to the sophistication that Apple teased in the new Apple Watch' - Victor H.

Hurry up, and launch this beauty. Gotta have that black one, I'm liking it.

Once upon a time you were laughing at square watches with horrible battery life. Now, you can't get one soon enough. You are right about Apple's ability to sell.

Definitely expected it to too the 360 since that's what apple likes to do )release after and 1 up) but this is ugly. May be more functional than the 360 but gawd awful ugly! :/

Question. What is the point of slowing down NFC payments on the phone with a fingerprint requirement and advertising it as a huge security advantage over Android's implementation, and then allowing it on the iWatch with, presumably, no fingerprint. I dont get it.

30. AlikMalix unregistered

Maybe typing in authorization info/password isn't that easy on any smartwatch. ..

That is not what he meant. Apple says NFC is ready for payments in combination with the Touch-ID (security) but then allows the Watch to do NFC payments as well without the Touch-ID.

I kinda like it but I'm worried the watch will run out of power in the middle of the day

More like a ToyWatch. And its nothing compared to what the Gear S has to offer.

Honestly the feature seem nice; however, I can't seem to get over the childish looking design. The moto 360 looks much more elegant and classy. I prefer circular design for watched even though I own Gear 2 Neo.

The Moto360 looks ancient. Apple watch looks a lot more up to date.
