Android now accounts for half of all Instagram users

A year ago Instagram opened its goodies for Android lovers with a dedicated app, and now the service writes on its blog that nearly half of its millions of users worldwide are now coming from Google's mobile OS.

Instagram got acquired by Facebook, and today the social networking giant is said to push out an HTC First phone with forked Android version centered around the Facebook experience, so the Instagram usage number from Android devices is bound to increase even further down the road.

The company was stupid for holding out as long as they did. They would have sold for more if they had a larger user base with both android and IOS users
