Android 7.0 Nougat for Galaxy S6 and S6 edge is now rolling out

Android 7.0 Nougat for Galaxy S6 and S6 edge is now rolling out
Owners of the Samsung Galaxy S6 and Galaxy S6 edge have been teased with promises of Nougat for some time now. It was supposed to land by the end of February, but Samsung later delayed the update to review its quality.

It appears that the delay wasn't that long after all, as a number of SamMobile users reported that they received the new Android version today on their Galaxy S6 and S6 edge handsets. One reader in particular provided a screenshot of Vodafone pushing the update for the S6 edge in the UK, as firmwear version G925FXXU5EQBG. SamMobile also received reports from other European countries, such as Switzerland, Germany and Italy.

It is still unknown whether the update is limited to Europe, or not. However, even if it is, it's expected that it will make its way to other markets shortly. Do keep in mind that some carriers might need more time than others to begin pushing the update, and unlocked devices are likely to get it first, as it will come straight from Samsung.

The 1.3 GB update brings a number of improvements, such as the new interface – Samsung Experience, which is much cleaners than what it was before. Another addition is Samsung Cloud, a cloud-storage backup feature that allows users to use up to 15 GB for free. It automatically syncs native apps, such as Contacts, Calendar and Notes, so all your important data can be safe.

Flash it via odin instead of whining. Global rollout always takes a few weeks or so to keep servers from getting overloaded with requests.

In all fairness, it's not his job to flash the software, Samsung should work on their servers and make sure everyone gets the update in the same week. Their servers are so bad, that I had to download the update for my wife more than 7 times, it kept saying that there was an error and giving me that few megabites were lost in the download process.

Next time use updato.com since sammobile is a total crap for firmware download speeds

Thanks for the tip, because thats one thing I hate about their website. I used to use AMD to help me download their firmwares, but they now did a workaround so that people won't be able to download it through AMD, the update would start, but the website will automatically log me out after an hour or so and that will crash the download.

It's greatly impossible to deliver updates on day 1 to all the world. If someone cares that much, he should flash it. Samsung promised a nougat update and he will get it. You think they deliberately delay it?

I am not saying on the same day, but at least in the same week or two. It's ridiculous that UK received the update 2 months ago, and many regions throughout the world hasn't received it yet.

I agree with mahrek, I shouldn't flash it via odin and like I said, there is NO Nougat for me (Switzerland AUT) and I don't want to flash one from another country. I will f***cking whine as much as I want because it's unacceptable.

If you want the fastest uodates, flash the UK firmware, I did that to my S7 and now I get the updates on date one. I will definitely do that if I ended up getting the S8.

PAINFUL! My unlocked S7 Edge (SM-935U) still is on 6.0.1 but S6 series gets updated. Samsung is giving the finger to those who paid the highest price.

Nougat is junk. You guys would be wise to pass on this one. Battery drain and Bluetooth management is absolutely awful. It's not fixable either, I've tried everything. Take this OTA and you're screwed. Pray for Oreo...
