Amazon might drop the Kindle Fire price $50 to make room for a model with higher screen resolution
Sources from the "upstream supply chain" have hinted the Amazon Kindle Fire will receive a $50 price cut to $149, in order to make room for a new model with higher, 1280x800 pixels screen resolution.

The current Kindle Fire is 1024x600 pixels, but it is not mentioned whether Kindle Fire 2 will have any other upgrades for the alleged $199 price, or just the screen.

Amazon has reportedly also tested larger tablets, like 8.9" and 10.1" models, but it allegedly ditched the smaller one, as we've heard before, and stayed the course with the 10-incher, which will reportedly see the light of day for the holiday season, or in the first quarter of next year at the latest.
