Sony Xperia XA3 leaks in all its glory with big forehead but almost no chin
After unveiling the mid-range Xperia XA2 and XA2 Ultra at the 2018 Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas, Sony was widely expected to bring the refined and upgraded Xperia XA3 and XA3 Ultra to CES 2019 last month.

That obviously didn’t happen, nor did the Sony Xperia XA3 see daylight at IFA 2018 in Berlin back in September, but an MWC 2019 announcement alongside the high-end Xperia XZ4 later this month is pretty much guaranteed.

Bizarrely enough, one of the most trusted smartphone leakers in the world is today contradicting another tipster with a near-perfect track record, revealing official-looking press renders of the fast-approaching Sony Xperia XA3 that are very different from factory CAD-based imagery leaked several months ago.

Instead of symmetrically thin top and bottom bezels, this big guy could ultimately adopt an unusual combination of a large "forehead" and an almost non-existent "chin." That simply looks weird and unnecessary in the humble opinion of this writer, although you have to give props to Sony for at least trying something different and somewhat unconventional.

On a similar note, the Xperia XA3 is now expected to sport a 5.9-inch or so screen with an uncommon 21:9 aspect ratio rather than jumping on the 18:9 bandwagon. That’s a drastic change from the outdated 16:9 displays with massive top and bottom borders on last year’s XA2 and XA2 Ultra. It’s also what we expect from the Sony Xperia XZ4, although the company’s new flagship should offer a significantly higher pixel count than the freshly rumored 2560 x 1080 resolution of the XA3.

WinFuture’s Roland Quandt has no new information on the upcoming mid-ranger’s specifications, so for the time being, we’ll assume nothing has changed on that front. If so, the Sony Xperia XA3 should come with a respectable Snapdragon 660 processor, 4GB RAM, 64GB internal storage space, a 3,500 mAh battery, dual 23 + 8MP rear-facing cameras, a USB Type-C port, and a side-mounted fingerprint sensor.

Color options are likely to include black, silver, blue, and pink, as revealed by an extensive batch of new high-quality renders.
