HTC M8 / One 2 press image leaks, Sense 6.0 UI and large front-facing camera visible
Ladies and gentlemen, here we have what seems to be the very first press photo showing the unannounced HTC M8 / One 2. It comes from @evleaks, which means we should not doubt its authenticity.

The image is showing the HTC M8 in a protective case, but we can still see that the handset resembles last year’s HTC One.

The new Sense 6.0 UI, which is integrated with Android 4.4 KitKat, is also visible. Moreover, we can see a large front-facing camera (probably 5MP, as rumored) with what could be a flash next to it. Dual speakers are included on top and at the bottom of the screen - which should be a 5-inch 1080p one. You can (and you should) click on the image on the left to enlarge it.

HTC confirmed that it would officially announce its next-generation smartphone on March 25. We’re not yet sure about the handset's name. M8 is merely a codename, so the device could be called One 2, or One+ when it officially arrives.

Here's what else we should expect from the new HTC flagship smartphone: a dual-sensor rear camera, quad-core Snapdragon processor, 2GB of RAM, and MicroSD card support. HTC may also release a One 2 Mini, and a One 2 Dual SIM later this year.

Flash near a front facing camera? Amazing - Innovation at its finest tbh.

What's innovation in that? btw they are more likely to be sensors rather than flash.

I think you are 100% right.. Those are the proximity and ambient-light sensors..

i think we use the word innovation loosely.... putting a flash at the front of the phone is not innovation... its just smart thinking... and those r sensors btw..

I think these are sensors not flash.

I am fairly sure they are NOT sensors. Sensors are usually completely black. These are light green in color, which is very similar to the background of the LED flash in all of our phones now.

I can see a slight amount of gray to the left of the top speaker, I'm thinking that distortion is due to the sensors being placed there.

They are sensors.

Front facing flash doesn't make a whole lot of sense. Sure, its good for selfies and such but the flash would likely end up blinding the user, resulting in a bad picture

They're sensors. One of them 'might' be a better notification light. But flash has never been that small, or that dark in color.

There are rumors that the logo will have a function, like everyone wanted with the One. We'll see, I guess.

Htc i hope you are not so stupid to enlarge the bezel by putting buttons on the screen instead of leaving them on the bezel as it was on htc one. hope its not the final version.

I really don't understand why there's a bezel at the bottom JUST for the HTC logo... if that was staying, they should've kept capacitive buttons... ugh.

Finally on screen buttons + huge bezel :|
i wonder what was wrong with htc one capacitive buttons?

They don't reposition based on screen orientation or change symbols based on context (like open keyboard).

Flash near the front facing camera? WTF!!!

That is probably the led notification light and the proximity sensor

Double flash at front? Or is it some sensor or microphone?
