Some Motorola DROID X units have been shipped with defective screens
You might excuse some Motorola DROID X owners tonight if they seem a bit preoccupied. Some might think they are seeing double, or having problems with their eyes. We can assure you, DROID X owners, that the problem is not with you. You see, it isn't just the Apple iPhone 4 that had a problem almost immediately upon launch. The Android forums are alive tonight with word that some units of the new Android flagship model, the Motorola DROID X, were shipped with defective screens. The trouble is either graphical or electrical and results in rapid flickering and vertical banding on all or some of the unit's 4.3 inch display. Verizon has already replaced some models with some customers being told that the problem was common among launch day inventory. If you are one of the unlucky ones who had a problem with their DROID X screen, let us know what your display was doing and how Big Red did right by you. While word of this problem has just started to make its way out of the forums, we should be able to come to a conclusion in the next few days about how differently Verizon/Motorola and Apple/AT&T each handled their respective predicament.
