Snapchat update brings Friend Emoji, low-light mode and more to the messaging app
A new update to messaging app Snapchat brings with it a new feature called Friend Emoji. Only you will be able to see the emoji as they appear on your contacts list. You will see a special gold heart emoji for a person who is your #1 BF if you're this person's #1 BF. A fire emoji is used for a person you've snapped back and forth for consecutive days, and a smirk emoji is used for a contact who considers you their BF but they are not yours. Check out the slideshow to view six Friend Emoji.

Snapchat will also alert you to which contacts you have been ignoring in a new section called "Needs Love." These are contacts that you used to snap quite often, but no longer do so. You might want to brighten their day by sending them a snap. Finally, a new low-light mode has been added to the app. When the Snapchat camera determines that you are in a low-light area, click the icon of the moon and the image on the screen will brighten. This will allow you to take higher-quality pictures under low-light conditions.

For those unfamiliar with the app, Snapchat allows users to send video and photo messages to recipients. The images self-destruct ten seconds after being opened.

I don't really like Snapchat stance with the Windows platform. Windows Phones are not my DD, but I know a lot of people who complain about the lack of support and the force of shutting down 3rd party apps for this "social network". I'm also not a user of it, but then again I understand some people might want to use it and the company behind it simply ignores the growing WP platform. (Yes, it's not a big number but it's growing we can't deny that)
