Samsung joins forces with YouTube to offer Galaxy S10 and Galaxy Fold owners a sweet gift
It's no longer too early to call it - Samsung has another high-end hit on its hands. Or rather three of them, one of which is likely to give the iPhone XR a run for its money in the "inexpensive" flagship segment. But let's be honest, the Galaxy S10, S10+, and even S10e are still pretty darn expensive, at starting prices of between $750 and $1,000 in the US.
Of course, to help sweeten those deals, the device manufacturer and various authorized third-party retailers have been offering nice pre-order gifts, including free Galaxy Buds, coupons, and more coupons. Even better, now that the Galaxy S10 family is actually available worldwide in brick and mortar stores, we keep discovering additional perks no one really saw coming.
Interestingly, Samsung appears to have joined forces with not one, but two music streaming heavyweights for conflicting promotions you can actually stack up to maximize your savings. Apart from a complimentary six-month Spotify subscription, Galaxy S10, S10+, and S10e owners are eligible for four gratis months of YouTube Premium until March 2020. Unlike the US-only Spotify deal, the gift of ad-free YouTube is available globally... as long as you live in a country with YouTube Premium access.
Stateside, YouTube Premium normally costs $11.99 a month, which gets you two different things. Namely, a YouTube Music subscription essentially mirroring the functionality of Spotify or Apple Music with ad-free audio streaming, background and offline listening support, as well as an enhanced YouTube experience including video downloading capabilities, access to YouTube Originals content, and background play.
But wait, there's more. More devices eligible for this sweet promo, that is. Future Galaxy Fold and Galaxy Tab S5e owners will apparently qualify for the exact same freebie, while "all other Samsung Galaxy device owners" activating their new gadgets until February 2020 will be able to score two gratis months of YouTube Premium.
Unfortunately, all deals are restricted to new YouTube Premium users, with past subscribers and trial customers of YouTube Music Premium, YouTube Red, and Google Play Music also excluded. If you do qualify, don't forget to cancel your free subscription in due time, as you'll automatically be charged the 12 bucks a month after.
