Patent application shows Apple Pencil holder for iPads, again references use with iPhone

Patent application shows Apple Pencil holder for iPads, again references use with iPhone
Back in December, we saw an Apple patent-filing over a new Apple Pencil model — one that may or may not be compatible with iPhones! The implication being that at least the big iPhone Plus models could get their own stylus and compete with the Galaxy Note series in the realm of phablets for professionals or people who just love their handwriting.

Now, a new patent shows us that Apple is also thinking about ways to easily store and transport the Pencil with your iPad, and it loosely touches upon the whole iPhone compatibility thing again. Let's talk about the latter case first — the patent looks at cases and covers, which have a compartment to hold the Apple Pencil. It's in the wording, where Apple says that the accessories would be suitable for use with devices, such as phones or tablets.

Now, this obviously doesn't confirm anything — patent wordings are generally so broad and rich on various definitions, they quickly become painfully boring to read. But hey, at least the filing shows us that Apple is thinking about storage options for that pesky Pencil!

Yes, it's an awesome tool, but you need to think about carrying it around, take care not to forget it, and figure out where to keep it. Thankfully, future iPad Pro smart covers may have some sort of loop or another kind of holder or compartment for the Apple-branded stylus.

That's it for now... would you like to see the iPhone support Apple Pencil?

It's only a fail for people who haven't had the luxury and convenience of using something like the note series... And if Apple is referencing using the pencil with the iPhone then you know it's a legit feature that people want...

But please understand, many iPhone users have had phones that came with a Stylus of some kind.

Its not like pens are foreign objects to people.

This is the most stupidest looking concept.

The iPad is large enough for a silo for the pen to be placed inside the iPad.

If and we know they are, they are so against Samsung's way, they can simple make an impression/cutout on the back of the iPad. Make it be the same size as the pen, and have it sunk in deep enough to the pen lays flush on when you lay the iPad down, it still sits relatively flat. Since the camera always makes it sit lopsided.

Stupid dongles or attachments are simply dumb with the iPad.

Also they need to include the pen. The frikkin iPad costs more than enough money. It only costs them $200 to make the iPad Mini, so that means the 9.7" only costs about $50 more and then the 12" only cost about $50~100 more than the 9.7.

This patent application is totally stupid considering the size of the iPad. And yet peopel sya they are innovative.

Also they need a better way to charge the pencil. First off its very stupid you have to charge it. But Apple was to cheap to license WACOM tech.

I don't mind it being battery powered, because the Surface Pen is battery powered. But I never have to charge the Surface Pen. But even though the Apple Pencil needs to be charged, sticking it out from the bottom of the iPad is simply stupid.

They could or should have made the connect fit in the middle of the pencil, and made the connector swivel out and them you plug it in. Or they could have simply put a lightning port on the pencil and simply supplied a lightning-to-lighting cable to charge or a 2 headed connector like a gender changer, but with lightning on both sides.

But APple choses to do this stupid way which makes no sense whatsoever!

Appel is so innovative.
