It looks like ZTE has officially unveiled its affordable new smartphone, the Nubia N1. Envisioned as a competitor to models like the Xiaomi Redmi Note 3, but with more of a premium sheen, the $255 (CNY 1699) handset sports signature Nubia niceties such as a metal body and trim bezels. It comes with a 5.5-inch, 1080p-resolution screen and it's powered by an octa-core processor (reportedly, it's the MediaTek Helio P10) with 3GB of RAM and 32GB of expandable storage. The dual-SIM connected device has 13MP front and rear cameras, and also features a fingerprint scanner. A 5000mAh battery runs the mains.
Other details about the Nubia N1 are scarce, but given that the comparably spec'd Xiaomi Redmi Note 3 Pro and Meizu M3 Note can be had for less cash, we have our reservations about the smartphone's chances to become a breakthrough success. Nubia (a ZTE brand) probably won't be selling it outside of China and neighbouring countries, too.
