New Nokia patent hints at a future Lumia?

New Nokia patent hints at a future Lumia?
It is a new patent that also takes us back in time. During the summer of 2011, a promotional video for Nokia leaked, highlighting the vision of how Nokia and Microsoft would connect people. In that video, we could see a couple handsets running Windows Phone 7. The video was a bit of a fantasy in that those devices were purely conceptual.

What we did not know at the time was that on the same day the video leaked, August 10, 2011, Nokia filed with the US Patent Office for the design of a handset. What did those design drawings look like? Like none other than the device depicted in the video. The patent was just granted on October 16th and the similarities between the patent drawings and the video are unmistakable.

Now the folks at Nokiapoweruser are asking if this design could spawn a new Lumia which might find its way to Verizon or T-Mobile. Maybe a version of the Lumia 9xx? The video renders look pretty classy, so whatever Nokia hammers together, should they make a move with this design, could pass for high-end if the company chooses to.

Take a look at the pictures and the video from last summer and tell us your hopes and dreams should this design make it to market.

i like and admire samsung as a whole.. i judge designs based on various aspects such as functionality and durability, not only aesthetics.

So you admire samsuck wich is cheap dirty thief and copycat. Shame on you. Many asian OEM:s have done nothing but copycats recently. They are just lazy followers. Thats what you admire. Phyi.

In my opinion Nokia>Motorola>Samsung/Sony>HTC/LG>Apple If its on pure design basis my order would be Nokia>Motorola>HTC/Sony>LG/Samsung>Apple Top designs (my opinion):- Nokia N9>Motorola Razr (XT 910)>LG Crystal/LG BL 20/Sony Ericsson Aino>The above design>HTC Desire

Looks like a larger Asha, and I like that the screen is almost literally edge-to-edge, unlike the /almost/ "edge-to-edge" of the Droid RAZR M

I like the new design of this Nokia phone, but the drawings in the diagram looks a lot thinner than the one in the video. The only other problem i have with Nokia is, that it takes too long to bring their product to market, after the announcements. :/ Watchout, Apple might get mad over the rounded corners of the phone. :(

Not bad design, but I really want to see FX800 concept to come into reality. These renders kinda look like a big Asha 311.

HTC 8x itself is Sony xperia P ripoff. Besides the videos are almost 20 months old. They may have this design in lab but first they want to put the n9 design for use this year.
