New AirPods orders won't arrive until after Christmas

If you haven't ordered your Apple AirPods yet, it might be too late to receive them in time for Christmas. New orders placed with carriers and retailers will now arrive after December 25th with some exceptions. This means that if you are set on gifting someone the Bluetooth powered wireless ear buds for the holidays, you might have to make it a belated Christmas present.

For example, Apple 's earliest delivery date for new AirPods orders is January 4th. Best Buy's website shows a delivery date of January 5th at the earliest, while Verizon customers will receive the accessory no earlier than December 29th. AT&T appears to have some AirPods in the warehouse as the carrier's website offers them with two-day shipping.

Last year, Apple delayed the release of the AirPods by a couple of months. At the beginning of this year, following the launch of the product, reports stated that Apple had turned the heat on manufacturer Inventec to churn out the device in bigger numbers.

The AirPods turn on once placed in your ears. They pair to an iPhone with a single tap, and run for five hours on a single charge. The carrying case doubles as a battery charger, and can refresh the AirPods' battery multiple times, adding up to more than 24 hours of usage on a single charge. The AirPods are priced at $159.

Got some over a week ago with a gift card discount. Work good for my needs. Not a audiophile. Use them to watch media on lunch breaks. Didn’t realize they’re still hard to find.

Control the stock, you control th3 demand. Though I don't see that many people buying headphones of any brand. Maybe the company that makes them is really slow. They are over a year old. This is simply baloney.

One month ago it was easy to get them, now it is impossible. This proves the very high demand on this piece of technology once we approach Christmas. Clearly, there is no competition in this area: AirPods and only AirPods.

yes the proof is that Apple is close to be ruined. I don’t know how a person can write such a stupid comment like yours.

It doesn't prove anything, one way or the other. The AirPod have had production difficulties since day one. We have no way of knowing if that is still the case.

Is this only for the US? In my country stores still have plenty of Airpods stock Reminds me of the Pixel last year. It back ordered months in the US, but again in my country there was decent stock (decent stock considering it wasn't officially released here)

$160 is pricey for headphones. It outrageous for the limited functionality it offers. No headphone on the planet are worth more than $100. In most cases, you're just paying for a brand name, not true quality audio
