Is this the Huawei Mate 8?
A Huawei handset with the model number M200-UL00 has been leaked via an 18-second video. The person who posted this clip on YouTube says that the phone is the Huawei Mate 8. The manufacturer has already posted a teaser listing September 2nd as the possible unveiling date for the unit, saying that on that day Huawei will "bring you a taste of the flagship flagship."

The Huawei Mate 8 is rumored to be carrying a 6-inch 1440 x 2560 QHD resolution screen. That works out to produce a pixel density of 490ppi. The Mate 8 could find itself powered by a home grown Kirin 950 SoC. Chinese smartphone manufacturers have started offering two versions of newer models, and Huawei won't be the exception. The rumor has one variant of the Mate 8 coming with 3GB of RAM and 32GB of native storage, while the other version will offer 4GB of RAM with 64GB of internal memory.

On back will be a 20.7MP rear-facing camera, with an 8MP front-facing shooter ready to snap selfies and handle video chats. Under the rear-facing camera, you can see the fingerprint scanner that will be on board. While the Huawei Ascend Mate 7 featured a 4100mAh battery on board, we should find a larger capacity cell powering up the Mate 8.

We've already seen other leaked images of the Huawei Mate 8, and there is no certainty that any of the phones pictured or caught on tape is it. Until we learn more, you can continue to examine the 18 second clip as though it were the Zapruder film, looking for that one "AHA!" moment when you have been hit with the definitive conclusion one way or the other.

Hopefully, we will have some more images and a definitive set of specs leak prior to the unveiling of the Huawei Mate 8, which will take place presumably early next month.
