Is there a Samsung Galaxy Note mini tablet being tested in India?
Zauba is a web site that tracks imports and exports to and from India. According to the site, a shipment landed in India from Delhi Air Cargo containing a pair of mobile devices, each with the model number SM-P601. According to the documentation that came with the import into the country, this is a "mini" version of another model. The value of each device is 33,508 Rupees ($542.30 USD) so it is not going to be a cheap machine.

What kind of device could sport a 5.25 inch screen and still be called "mini"? How about a mini version of a Samsung Galaxy Note tablet? That possibility seems likely since the model number spotted on the import information matches up perfectly with the Samsung Galaxy Note 10.1 (2014) slate.

This is all speculation for the moment, but perhaps the Korean OEM is indeed working on a Samsung Galaxy Note 10.1 mini with a 5.25 inch panel. You wouldn't necessarily call it the Galaxy Note 5.25 for fear of screwing up the phablet line's naming of future models. This is a mystery worthy of Scooby and the gang and hopefully Samsung will soon let us know exactly what is going on. We can see from the info that the two models came into India for evaluation and testing and are not for retail sale.
