Image of Coral Blue Samsung Galaxy S8, Galaxy S8+ for U.S. market surfaces

In the U.S., the Samsung Galaxy S8 and Samsung Galaxy S8+ are available in Midnight Black. Orchid Gray and Arctic Silver. Today, reliable source Evan Blass (@evleaks) sent out a tweet that included an image of both phones dressed in Coral Blue. Blass says that this color is heading to U.S. versions of the two handsets, although no time frame for its stateside release was mentioned. Also, while you most likely will find this new color for the Galaxy S8 and Galaxy S8+ offered on Samsung's website, it isn't known yet which carriers and retailers in the U.S. will stock it.

You might recall that Coral Blue was a very popular color option last year for the Samsung Galaxy Note 7. Of course, that was before the phablet ended up removed from shelves due to battery problems that caused several units to explode. Subsequently, the color was offered for the Samsung Galaxy S7 edge.

When Samsung introduced its two 2017 flagship models this year, two color options (Coral Blue and Maple Gold) were held out of the U.S. lineup. Now that Coral Blue will be offered in the states, we wouldn't be surprised to see Maple Gold added down the road. Announcing the availability of new colors is simply a way for Samsung to put the spark back into the phone after it has been available and heavily marketed for 6 weeks.

part of the Note7's blue coral allure was the dual tone finish. The one on the S8 is a deeper more ocean like blue. Still beautiful but very different,

That's just a rendering, dude. Blue coral is blue coral. The blue coral s8 that was supposedly unboxed "in the wild", is the same blue coral colour as the blue coral note 7. And blue coral s7 edge.

Theyre the same colour, man. It's a specific colour formula that gets patented by OEMs. If it wasnt the same, it would be patented under a different name. They don't just randomly mix colours then go "meh, close enough to last time, lets just call it the same". If it looks different, it's just because you looked at it under different lighting conditions.

Was it an actual phone or a dummy display model, I've noticed coloring differences between display phones and the actual phone since they use a different material it results in darker tones

I expected the article to be more like " Samsung is planning to release more colors because Apple unveiled ios11"

What happened to the days whenever a phone came out, all colors were released at the same time?

When was this? Back when the moto startac all came in black at the same time? I remember having a silver sony Ericsson that was later released in blue, like 15 years ago. The 610, i think it was.

These colors were available at the time of release in S korea and some other countries but not in US. May be stock issues ?

How long did it take to get anything other than Silver in the RAZR? Not until ATT lost the exclusive IIRC.
