Huawei releases teaser for September 1st IFA event; new sub-brand coming?
With IFA 2016 officially set to kick off in Berlin on September 2nd, Huawei released a teaser for its September 1st event that will take place at 10:30 am Central European Summer Time (CEST). That works out to 4:30am Eastern Time in the U.S. on the same morning. The teaser shows the bottom corner of a handset with the slogan "Defy Expectations," which is exactly what the third largest smartphone manufacturer in the world plans on doing.

Another report, citing an interview with Huawei executive Kevin Ho, says that Huawei will be introducing a new sub-brand at IFA. Ho, who is the President, Handset Product Line, Huawei Consumer Business Group, said that the sub-brand will deliver mid-range handsets. Huawei already owns the popular Honor sub-brand.

Other devices that we could see unveiled at the event include the high-end Huawei Mate 9, and a phone made for women called the Huawei Nova. There has also been talk about the unveiling of a new Huawei smartwatch.

September 1st is right around the corner, so check in often for late breaking rumors and news about Huawei's upcoming event.

They can come up with any random miserable brands, and I will still not buy them. Those cheap ugly and pathetic phones.

Lol "Shagging", is this an Austin Powers movie? I just thought it was funny. Anyway, back to the phone. Haven't tried one yet, due to the reviews in Amazon; not very favorable at all.

If you came out with a proper explanation why it is miserable then at least we will understand why you are frustrated with it, or else it will be look like another Chinese company hater.

He's a blind anything-Chinese-hater obviously, so don't expect a valid explanation.

I'm impressed by my first Huawei product, the Hwatch. Great looks, good hardware choices with sapphire glass and a speaker. I could easily see my next phone, or watch, come from Huawei.
