CyanogenMod's new photo gallery is available to members as a beta in the Google Play Store
Upset with including the AOSP Gallery application with CyanogenMod, the powers that be at CM have decided to offer its own photo gallery application. While future versions of CyanogenMod will surely come with the new GalleryNext, a beta version is available from the GooglePlay Store for those who sign up as a member of the CM community on Google+, and want to test the replacement for the stock Android Gallery.

The GalleryNext app lets you view your pictures in one central location and also offers cloud service integration with Flickr, Picassa (G+), Facebook and Dropbox. The app will also include what CM calls Moments support, which is the grouping of media based on metadata. GalleryNext also includes support for video playback and for Gif files. And with Deduplication in "All" view, you won't lose available storage to duplicate content.

On the "to do" list are plans to implement "KitKat's immersive mode UI," and fix all of the bugs that beta users report. Speaking of which, if you want to test out GalleryNext, you can start the process by clicking on the sourcelink and following the instructions.

Cyanogenmod is really awesome . Hope they can put their launcher on the playstore . By the way , could PA remove that mobogenie pop up thing ? Its getting really annoying , especially when you open multiple tabs at once . I don't mind seeing ads but please do not use pop up . Also why the the number of comments on the homepage removed ? Bad decisions !!!
