Apple iOS 10 release date, beta download and new features video

Apple's iOS 10 introduces much more visible and drastic interface changes than its predecessor, which was mainly focused on under-the-hood optimizations, like speed and security. We have a brand new Lock screen with rich notifications, widgets and quick camera access, a more interactive Peek preview that utilizes 3D Touch on the iPhone 6s and 6s Plus, as well as a brand new Apple Music

Not only that, but Apple decoupled the stock apps from the operating system for faster updates, and significantly enhanced iMessage, making it possibly the most full-featured secure chat app out there. That's not even mentioning smaller runs like the introduction of News subscriptions, or the Photos app auto recognition and organization options. So, when will all these goodies be available to the iPhone 5 and above, or the iPad 4th gen and above?

Well, you can sign up for the iOS 10 Developer Preview as soon as today, a Public Beta is coming next month, while the general release will hit all those devices in September, presumably with the launch of iPhone 7, as has become customary. Do you like what you see so far with iOS 10?

Full of gimmicks. I like a few core features iOS 10 is bringing, but most of it is what Samsung used to do - slap all that shnit on the wall and see what sticks. Tim Cook needs to go. iMessage is going to be a clutter mess!!! Lock screen a clutter mess!!! Maps also a clutter mess!!! This is the kind of crap android people like. Not me... I like minimalism. Where's Apple going with this?

Apple usually doesn't deal in gimmicks, best to wait until the beta or full release before you start judging stuff, just saying.

Hey, in the back of my mind in hoping that some of this stuff doesn't make it to the final (it has happened in the past). Or at the least I could disable all that - like I disabled Apple Music in Music app and used it as good ol' music player without seeing any buttons for Apple Music. Leave all the birthday ballons and confetti to third party texting apps - I want iMessage to stay looking like it's made for adults. Maps, for example, I do use open table for reservations using Siri, but I don't use left or ├╝ber, am I going to see links and features for uber, or does it only get added if I have the app? I'm just worried that too much additions to sow thing that I love and think is perfect would ruin it.
