5 features that the Samsung Galaxy S6 and HTC One M9 are both expected to have
March 1 will be a very important day for Samsung and HTC, as both have scheduled MWC 2015 press events for that day. The two companies have made it pretty clear that they're going to announce their next-generation flagship smartphones on March 1: the Galaxy S6, and the One M9, respectively.

While the handsets that precede the S6 and the M9 - Galaxy S5 and One (M8) - are very different devices when compared to each other, the new models are expected to have quite a few things in common (besides Android Lollipop). Note that we're talking about the regular Galaxy S6 and One M9 here, not about the S6 Edge and M9 Plus.

There are (at least) 5 features that both the Galaxy S6 and One M9 will most likely offer - although, of course, we'll be able to confirm them only after Samsung and HTC announce the two smartphones.

Interestingly, the majority of our readers seems to believe that the HTC One M9 will be better than the Samsung Galaxy S6. Obviously, we'll have to thoroughly test the two handsets before we can agree, or disagree on this one.

Since #5 is already available on both S5 and M8, it's just too obvious to mention in this article imo. It's like saying... we expect both will have at least 1080p display.

S6 will be better if you believe the rumors and early benchmarks but I guess we'll just have to wait and see. (6 days mwc)

I prefer HTC's design but Samsung's designs improved alot especially in #3 images and thumbnail where they shown side by side. It looks great and premium hope it looks even more better in original product.

I hope the M9 turns out to be the leaks from Evleaks The M9 in Evleaks' leaks looks a step above all the phone designs I've seen But the CyberPort's gold/silver leaks look far worse than the M7/M8 and S6 leaks (the black one looks far better than the gold/silver, but still a step back and not as good as the S6 leaks)

Agree.. They are great.. I'd downloaded all those pics.xD

Even when the HTC M9 won't look like the Evleaks renders it will be the better looking one in my opinion. Too many phones that have similar edges (Sony Z3, iPhone 6 and Samsung S6). CPU wise both are really close in terms of performance, but Samsungs own CPU makes it harder (if not impossible) to find custom roms. Sense is still more beautiful than TouchWiz (IMO). Does this mean the M9 will sell more than the S6? Absolutely not

Not the case on custom roms, s6 will have the most, it was only in the past when samsung own cpu was limited in use did you get none, now you be lucky to get any for the 810 with like 1 or 2 m sold before the G4 Gomes out in May, good luck with that with top for the yea 10 to 15m 81o poems being sold by the end of the year, not going to happen, I.e. There will have been more samsung cpu's in the s5 sold then there will be 810 this year., you only get more becuase there be more sold I the usa why Samsung cpu was limited I.e. See note 2 to see where I am going with this, the last time Samsung cpu was only used

Drives and documentation on Samsungs own CPU's suck. That is the reason there are few custom roms, not on how many sold. Those numbers don't say anything when it comes to rom developers.

You're usually spot on, but you're wrong on this one, Rebel. J2001m is right. The devs will support the more popular version. The Snapdragon version of the last few Samsung flagships were very abundant which is why they were supported so much better than the Exynos versions. Look back at the Note 2 however. There was no Snapdragon version. Check out how ubiquitous the ROMs are on that phone. The S6 will see more support than any other phone out there even if there is only an Exynos version. Count on it.

If Samsung provides drivers and documentation, there will be support. So let's hope Samsung will provide this on their new CPU. Had a Samsung Tab Pro 10.1 tablet before and was looking for a custom rom. Couldn't find a decent one, only the 8.4 and 12.1 were there (with Snapdragons)

Wow has HTC messed this one up. This M9 looks so much like the M7/M8. SMH Game over. HTC has lost this battle before the phone is even released! Samsung just knocked them out in design, look, and everything. What a waste HTC, what a waste

i don't understand why everybody hates the same design. don't fix it if it's not broken. That is already htc's one identity. all the iphones look the same, same can be said from xperia z-z3, lg g2 to g3,note1-4, etc. You are changing the identity of htc one series if you want a new look

One thing for sure: you can't go wrong with either one of them.

I am all Samsung, but HTC looks also nice. What I don't like about the S6, is that you won't be able to swap the batteries, so therfore I will wait for the note 5 and if they also make it like the S6, then goodbye Samsung.....
